It was a nice pipe dream to think the Beavers could have hosted a regional. But it was an uphill battle to achieve and they didn’t. Time move on and stop regretting what could have been. They are in a fight just to stay alive in the tourney now. Nothing will come easy going forward.

Failing to feed ASU another dose of Mundt's FB/Slider stuff in the 9th in favor of Mully's BP fastball wouldn't even qualify as a poor high school coaching decision.
Trying to close with JM is like playing Russian Roulette with 5 bullets.

I haven't understood the love affair with Mully. In my opinion he has been average since the 19 season. The draft should tell everyone something.

It was not Mully's fault. He had decent stuff and command. The problem being that Mully was set-up for failure. I am not a stats guy, but ASU articles as well as the announcers point to the fact that those particular guys feast on lefties. A few of those guys stats are outrageous. Even the lefty-lefty stuff isn't present. And ASU bats are sizzling right now to boot against most pitchers.
Now, Cooper can do well. Obviously a lefty, but a totally different skill set.

Our RPI is still 24, we can still win the series, the season starts today! Speaking of TODAY, and reflecting on the disappointment from last night - honestly this kind of stuff (B9th home team victory) is what makes baseball such a great game. Last night, as a result, Beavers fandom emotions sinks...Devils fandom soars. And then TODAY (May 15), on a frankly bigger stage, #4 Tennessee scores 3 in the B9, on a no-out 3 run HR, against #1 Arkansas for a walk-off 8-7 victory. Does that mean that the Arkansas head coach or pitching coach are dummies for not making the right moves? Or that promising freshman pitcher Jaxon Wiggins, who gave up the gw HR is a flop? Not really. All it means is that baseball is baseball is baseball...and that it is a great sport, both for players and for fans.
