But we scheduled it for a resort in Bend, and while it is still several weeks out, Deschutes county is having a severe spike in Covid cases. We are vaccinated, but we don't want to go over there to spend several days sitting in the hotel room cause the Elks/Knights baseball games allow minimal fans, the hotel amenities are reduced or closed, and getting a local reservation for any entertainment might not be possible.
They cry about restrictions, but then they don't get vaccinated, and it goes on and on and on.

It sucks. We cancelled our June trip to NYC for a variety of reasons around the pandemic. I guess I saved some $.

I think Deschutes County is number 3 in percent of people vaccinated by county in Oregon. One of the obvious problems is that Bend has a large population of young people. Older people vaccinated, younger people not vaccinated. The positive case count for Deschutes has been mind boggling for the last two weeks.

115 positives again today in Deschutes County. On a population basis, we are way over the big, Portland area counties. I didn't check hospitalisations or ICU today, but those numbers aren't good. Even without any vaccinations, common sense should keep numbers below this. This is screwed up.
