Had a very rough start to the season, but I think the Brewers used him well to build back his confidence and his ERA has come down a lot, think he has a bright future.

Did he touch 100 mph ?
Brewer fans in the LF bleachers say they can "hear the seams singing" when he throws that thing.
Attaboy, Razz.

Two college guys threw 101 last week. 95 is the new 90.
Silseth and Nichols both throw 98 for Arizona.

Our brains are weird. When I saw the topic headline, for some reason, I thought it was referring to Blair Rasmussen. He was the ducks center in the early 80's and had a decent NBA career. He was probably no good at baseball.

Will Frisch was a hard-thrower in high school. He had a 96 mph fastball two years ago. I am not sure, if he has improved on that number over the past two seasons. A 95+ mph fastball puts you in the upper 25% of all pitchers at the MLB level. Drew Rasmussen is tied for the 20th-fastest pitcher in baseball with his 97-98 mph fastball. Average pitch speed has been decreasing the last couple of years. The best fastballs tend to get hit more often than a good slider. And they stress arms a lot more. A 95+ fastball is still a great feather to have in your cap, though.

Don't ask why I remember that?

At OSU, Frisch has touched 98, and Salgado routinely touches 97 in games.
We have two prep recruits coming in with the '21 class, Dominic Hambley from Victoria B.C that has registered 95-96, and Victor Quinn from the St. Louis area that reaches 97-98. The 2021 Central Arizona C.C transfer D.J. Carpenter comes out of the pen for the nation's top ranked NJCAA program with 97 mph heat.
In addition, the Beavers have a group (7 or 8) of hi-velo arms in the classes of 2022,'23 and '24.

FWIW: MLB velocity in 2020 was 92.5 for LHP, 93.5 for RHP. Up 1 mph from 2018.

Reported pitch speeds are about as reliable as reported 40 times.
Everybody runs a 4.4 forty, and everyone throws 95+ MPH.
