Top of 7th
Washburn in for Abel, who seemed to actually pitch better later tonight.
Fly out to PJ in cf. Double down the third base line. Long fly out to deep right-center. Jones makes the catch. Runner advances to third. Ground out to Washburn.

Bottom of 7th
Gretler strikes out. K-Mac strikes out. PJones grounds out to pitcher.
Ho hum.
Those were expensive outs, I’m afraid. Far too easy for USC.

On a side note, that was a great interview by Parker with the OSU covid expert. ? Any clues for those of us not listening to Parker’s call? The CDC actually consulted with OSU officials on the data OSU was obtaining on the length of quarantine for athletes once a positive test was in the system. As I ascertained, OSU was key in reducing the quarantine from 14 to 10 days for athletes who may have been exposed. This was relatively early in the pandemic, so the OSU impact on quarantine length is impressive. At least, that is how I took the interview.

I heard back in football season that our practices were impressive. Nice to know that we’re still doing this right for the athletes!

Top of 8
Ground out to Gretler. Ground out to Army. Base hit up the middle.
Watkins in to pitch. Not sure why. Except for that base hit, Washburn looked good to me.
Well, one pitch one out. Ground out to Ober.

Looks like yet another stellar offensive performance by the beavs. One stinking hit.

Ok, the bone needs the pitching and defense to maintain! 6 innings and 3 runs is a quality start, so Kevin didn't quite match that but we're in the game, great way to fight back. "quality" and "start" and "didn't quite" do not belong in the same world as: a HR / triple / double / single / wild pitch / Walk / 2 Sac Flies...all given up in the first 3 innings. Go Beavs, there are still opportunities.
