It is pretty quiet since two of them left.

If there hasn’t been an announcement, they’re likely still on the hunt or in the process of interviewing candidates. Obviously, these decisions are not being taken lightly!

I am just hoping they are going to be so late that we may lose whatever connections we have with the recruiting pipeline ! I was just thinking, this afternoon, that the sucks have been awful quiet ( very unlike those backslappers ), both for the women and the men - except for the project woman center, Quite a few departures though ... sort of what was signaled on the floor last year - they always resorted to a one on one schoolyard game and Alt- man seems to have lost his mojo, and GRAVY looked just 'lost in space' ! Probably their respective worst years ever ? Please realize that whenever I mention the JC down South, my comments are based on a 'wishful thinking' sort of bias ! Anyway ... back to the original topic - Seems that OSU would have started with a short list and gone straight to a final sort of qualification and then to a formal interview ! I know there are all kinda of compliance requirements, however - the turnaround for the same task- at other Universities - has gone pretty swiftly maybe because in the other cases - the initiative was really on the part of the school !

It is pretty quiet since two of them left. Because it’s good to have something for fans to worry about. Don’t fret. Once the assistants are named we’ll have a lot of fun tearing apart their qualifications.

I noticed that too. Guessing it's a typo or Shelby is a closet schmuck!

Would you rather have a really good Oregon State type of recruiter trying to build a relationship starting 21 days from now with a 16 year old girl who will make a decision about 300 days from now, or do you feel it's vital to have a warm body on the job tomorrow morning?
Take it easy. This is a resume builder for a young assistant looking to move up. I am confident that Scott has numerous high quality candidates that he's considering, and will announce his choices when all i's have been dotted and t's crossed.

Just guessing, but probably not until they are hired.

There are a lot of good candidates, but I think it is safe to say that SR takes his time trying to find the best fit. This is going to be interesting. I'm sure he will have at least one hired this month. That's a bit of an lol, because you would think both would be hired, but with SR I do have some doubts, and that's not meant as an insult. I believe SR is very deliberate in making these decisions.
With that said, we'll probably hear something before I finish this post.
I'm not too worried about future recruits, but I will feel better about the 2022's once the new hires are in place.....and once they actually sign their NLI in November.

Wondering if SR provides the current team an opportunity to meet the coaching candidates to consider his player's first impressions or vibes of who is being considered. Always difficult to gauge a fit for the program in a brief meet and greet. Even though players are typically only 4 years with a program and a coaching staff much longer, offering the players an opportunity to feel part of the process, regardless, might pay dividends in building team unity even more than it currently is. And might impress upon incoming recruits. Not knowing how the searches are progressing is tough for many of us, but its because we care a great deal about OSU WBB. I trust in SR and his process. $0.02

I trust in SR and his process. $0.02 That would be a management mistake. If you set up such a meeting, and 9 players leave it with a neutral to slightly favorable opinion of the candidate, that part is fine. But if 3 players have an unfavorable opinion, you've sown the seeds of disunity no matter what you do. If you hire him, the 3 will resent that their counsel wasn't heeded; if you don't hire him, those who had a favorable opinion will resent the 3 who 'blackballed' him. Leave the entire decision where it belongs - with Scott.

Scott will take his time to get the right hires...what is the hurry? We have three huge commits ready to sign next fall, and there is no evaluation period going on now. Get the decision done right...not fast. The coaches need good chemistry and be on the same page. That takes time to figure out the right fit. Other schools may want to get things done quickly...I could care less. Scott has this under control.

I wish we at least had a pool of candidates we could debate over. Has anyone heard anything or seen any indicators on social media?
