I think we potentially have a top 25 team talent-wise.... But do we have a top 8 team talentwise? We didn't this last season, didn't matter though.

Not knocking the team, but I don’t think they did. I think they just came together and gelled. Confidence is an amazing thing once a team learns how to win. I feel like they played above their collective talent level. Very exciting and fun either way!

Very exciting and fun either way! Exactly my thoughts. It isn’t like there isn’t talent — they showed that during the postseason winning streak, but there is a reason they were 14-12 heading into the postseason. A team with “top 8 talent” does not lose back to back games at home to Wyoming and Portland. Maybe one slip up results in a loss like those, but not two back to back. But they did come together, got hot, and gained the confidence they could win. All things to be celebrated and enjoyed. And what a fun ride it was. Hopefully they can use that good mojo from this year to have a good year next year. It would seem that the talent they brought in is at least as good and likely better than what was lost other than Ethan. And the JC kid looks like he might be able to replace at least some of what Ethan brought. So certainly reasons to be excited about next year, but I’m not going to call the season a failure if they don’t go Elite Eight again. Get in the tourney again — preferably by not having to win the conference tourney — and that is a successful season. Then we’ll go from there.

Definitely not predicting an elite 8 finish next year, beacause last year we got hot and had sone very good match-ups along the way. I'm also saying going far in the tournament isn't out of the question. Most of the top players likely return, and confidence is a huge factor. The influx of talent can likely replace what we lost. It's up to the players to gel together and be a cohesive unit. The sky is the limit...another deep post season is possible and would give us all another lifetime memory. I love the future with a deep roster...

To be picked as last in the Pac before the season began provided some incentive for the Beavs last year. That being said, it will be curious where they are predicted to finish this year. All these years of watching the hoops when I was at OSU in 1980 when we were ranked No 1 and that Rolando fella knocking us out.....it would make for another special year if we could make another run in the tournament.....Sweet 16 has a nice sound to it for this year

Jarod in particular is perhaps the most confident student-athlete I've seen put on an OSU uniform. One of my favorite guys to watch for sure.

Last year's team flipped the confidence switch to 11 after beating UCLA in OT in the conference tournament. Lucas improved a ton last year particularly on defense. He has confidence that every shot he takes will go in which volume shooters need to have. GP Sr was the most confident Beavs player ever. He would shut Lucas down like he did to so many.

Lot's of teams were using a 'switch' double team to slow Lucas down ! If we have a couple more outside threats on the floor at the same time - that will create some problems for the defense !

Ahmed Rand - Eric Moreland athletic freaky pogo sticks So, I had no idea that Ahmad Rand was already here before last season was over with. I suppose he didn't play because he needed time to get the schemes and plays down. Either way, he is super athletic like Moreland, but one thing he does have that Eric didn't is a nice mid-range game. He even hits some 3's in some of his highlights. Things are definitely looking up for next year. If Tinkle can get these guys on the same page the sky is the limit.

It’s interesting that the level of athletic talent next year would have made me feel that we could sneak up on teams next year and be pretty good. After the last year though, I suspect there’s no chance of sneaking up, but I still feel that we should be pretty good - we are set up to be overwhelming if the team wants to be.
