I've been gone for almost a week, to a place in Colorado where II had no contact with the outside world. It's rather pleasant to come home to find that OSU has swept their final series to likely end up in a tournament bid.
It seems that only a week ago, and definitely two weeks ago, we were hearing via oregonlive and this site that this team had no heart, fight, or leadership (I think I used "grit" in the title because I was not far from where the original "True Grit" was filmed). I think a series sweep (comprised of three shutouts!) with the team's backs against the wall shows a lot of heart and a whole lot of fight.
People were ready to-and did-jump on this team when they were down. It's now time to give them their proper due for gutting out their last two series to hopefully get into the post-season.
