Since Washington native, Mitchell Canham took over the Oregon State baseball program, our recruiting activity in the Evergreen state has picked up. In the recruiting classes of 2022 through 2025, 9 Washington players are committed with more to come.
Two promising prospects from the talented New Level Extreme travel team in Washington are 8th graders that will attend Puyallup HS (Luke Heimlich) this fall. Both pitch and play in the infield. They'll be Beavers.
GAGE THOMPSON P/INF Thompson has a solid frame, is athletic, runs well has the tools to project very early at the college level. Has a strong arm - 80 mph velo, and is athletic. Will be a big boy, he's 6' 187 at 14 years of age. Good hitter with good power to all fields.
MASON PIKE INF/P Pike has a medium frame with good strength. Good footwork and very light on his feet. Is rally quick and has good speed. Soft hands and developing arm strength. A switch-hitter with an identical approach and swing from both sides. Good bat speed and hits for average. Like Thompson, has a string of All Tournament Team and MVP honors.
Both players are verbally committed to OSU - Class of 2025 along with Mt. Vernon superstar, Xavier Nayvens.

"RISING STARS IN 2025" - From Rawlings-Perfect Game
Mason Pike, SS, (Puyallup, Wash.) 5-10/165, L-R, College Commitment: Oregon State
Already committed to the nearby Beavers of OSU, Pike’s left-handed swing has already drawn interest in the eyes of our scouts with a quick and whip-like stroke, showing a feel for the barrel with nice extension out front. His athleticism and footwork play well up in the middle infield as well, showing aggressiveness in his actions with soft hands and an accurate arm across the diamon.
