Beavs were dogs in every game they played in the post season. I had them as favorites as early as the Colorado game. Sister Jean's team had me nervous about divine intervention and I will admit that I finally saw them as underdogs against Houston but I bet on them anyway. (heart/head thing is hard when it's the Beavs!)
Again, WAY TO GO BEAVS!!!

I prefer to be excited from watching the games and not from the analytics. I prefer to lose myself in the game as well. But now that we are not in the midst of it, I believe that it is valuable to take the time to process and appreciate the absurd majesty of what we just saw. You are unlikely to see a run like that from any team again, much less Oregon State. This. When you sit back and look at it, teams picked to finish last in their conference just don't go on the streak that the Beavs did. And teams with 20 years of crappy seasons don't do what the Beavs did. It'd be like taking the Kings to the NBA finals...except easier because money solves all problems in pro ball.

I would make a case for that being number 1.

Legit question for a beaver fan. So you asked here is my list. 1. 1942 Rose bowl Champions, biggest upset of all time by a beaver team 2. 2006-7 Baseball National Champions 3. 1963 Final Four basketball and heisman trophy winner 4. 2018 baseball National Champions 5. 2000 Fiesta Bowl Champions 6. 2016 women's basketball final four Honorable mention 2021 basketball 1967 giant killers 1981 basketball Robin Reed, because he was a one man team theoretically could have won every weight class in the 1924 olympics

Thanks for ringing our bells with some of those earlier feats

I’m not sure it would make anyone else’s top 10 list but I’ve always admired Howard Harris capping off a 46-0 season by pinning his way through the entire 1980 NCAA wrestling tournament (held in Corvallis no-less) as a 190 pound heavyweight. Back before any top limit was put on the heavyweight class. His championship opponent was future 2x Olympic Gold Medalist Bruce Baumgartner.

I like the wrestlers coming in; have a special affinity for the story of Reed, since he was not only voted by at least one poll as the best wrestler of the first half of the 20th century, he was the meanest SOB on the mat and his opponents hated and feared him. Real teeth in that Beaver!

But I mean 1985 Oregon State-Washington was a more unbelievable upset. Terry Baker in 1962-63 was quite the story. It is sort of marred by Oregon State botching the bowl situation and settling on the Liberty Bowl instead of trying to make the Gator or Gotham Bowls or even the National Trophy Bowl. But Baker got to meet both JFK in Philadelphia and RFK in NYC and appeared on Johnny Carson. He set the bowl rushing record against a woefully overmatched Villanova. Baker then led Oregon State on a 20-4 run to lead the Beavers to 1963 Final Four. In the Tournament, Oregon State beat Seattle in Eugene by four and then beat San Francisco (which confusingly received a bye, despite being one of the two lowest-regarded teams in the West Region) in Provo by four. Arizona State was ranked #3 and #4 in the two polls, but the Beavers beat the Devils by 18 in Provo to punch a ticket to the Final Four. The run was good, especially the 18-point win against #3/#4 Arizona State. It was the Oregon State's biggest win since a 23-point road win against Washington State. But the Beavers suffered the second-worst loss in the entire Tournament to Cincinnati in the Final Four. (The only bigger loss was Tennessee Tech--in its second and final Tournament appearance--and its 69-point loss to eventual National Champion Loyola-Chicago.) And then Oregon State proceeded to suffer the third-worst loss in the Third Place Game against Duke. Oregon State was exposed at the Final Four, showing that the Beavers did not really belong a conversation amongst the nation's best teams.

It was also the first time in 23 years that they had competed in an NCAA event. That run has to be up there.
