This was a great win for Beaver Baseball! Something we needed. Offense wasn't overpowering, but we were getting hits enough to leave 9 men on base. Seems like the Beavs either can't get men on base or we leave them loaded. LOL!
Abel looked good, except for plunking three batters (or was it four?). Defense looked spot on--Armstrong made a great play at short as did Casey in the ninth, preserving the no hitter.
And of course, it's always a great day when the Fuskies get hucked.

What a great game. Great plays by Casey and Dukart in 9th. Dukart seemed on everything tonight at the plate. 4 or 5 guys had it going. Sharp compact swings barreling it up. Abel's stuff so good he crossed up the ump at times. Tomorrow should be interesting.

The real tests are still coming...ASU, ARZ, furd, quacks, ucla, usc....the back half of the schedule will really tell us how good this team is. |
