Pitching, Hitting, Defense? They have Kenyon "Otashi" Yovan. We will lose this series, possibly get swept. Bored members will call for Canham to be fired, or at least point out that he is no Pat Casey. The balance of power in the PNW shifts after this weekend. UofO takes the lion's share, UW gets most of the rest and OSU is stuck fighting WSU for transfers and utility players to fill out the roster. Phil Knight uses his power, influence, and even calls in a few favors while on his death bed, to get the scholarship limit abolished, or set at 35. Phil Knights dies, and leaves 274 mil to the ducks baseball program. They become the preeminent west coast team, sucking all the talent from the western half of the USA, and even Texas. They become the baseball version of Alabama football, where not winning the national championship is a failure of a season. The ducks install a 15 camera system to stream games, complete with scoreboard graphics and a hall of fame broadcaster named.... Mike Parker gets his money and decides to call games for his alma mater, and switches to the ducks broadcast team. John Warren takes over as the lead for OSU. The Beavs still operate a single camera only, and recruits know that OSU is "where you go to die" as a talented high school baseball player. Parker calls his 4th national championship for UofO baseball in 2029, and the memory of what OSU and Pat Casey accomplished are a long distant memory. OSU drops baseball and adds co-ed bass fishing as a scholarship sport. Goss stadium at Coleman field is torn down and converted into a bass pond, to compete at the highest level. Nobody cares. UofO wins 8 of 10 championships from 2035 to 2045. Two separate 4 title runs, cementing them as the best college baseball program of all time. I die, a hollow shell of a man, bitter and alone because of the anger that has ruled my life since March 15th of 2021. I am not alone, as beaver baseball fans across the state suffer a similar fate. I wish it were different, but this is exactly what is gonna happen. Fire up youtube and watch the good old times, because this whole thing is done. Sheeeeish....'G20 must have a helluva lot of hot air and extra time on his hands. Retired, eh??

Well a 4 game sweep at UCSB is impressive - a split at home in a 4-game set with Seattle U not so much.

All I know is that Goss is gonna get em! Nothing stops the other team's party quite like running into Kevin Abel and the gauntlet of deathly quiet bats with our bullpen.

Well a 4 game sweep at UCSB is impressive - a split at home in a 4-game set with Seattle U not so much. In the first two UCSB games, Oregon overcame four-run deficits being down 5-1 in the seventh and 4-0 in the eighth before winning 7-6 and 5-4, respectively. The first two UCSB starters each three-hit the Ducks. The inning after they came out, the first reliever gave up six runs, four earned and four runs, three earned, respectively. UCSB outhit Oregon in both games but were much less efficient at plating runners. Nine of the runs in the two games came on four Duck home runs. One was a bases loaded HBP. Another was plated after a throwing error by the catcher on a sacrifice bunt. The final run was Kenyon Yovan hitting a ball through the right side with runners on first and second. After blowing a 4-0 eighth inning lead in game 1 of a double-header, Oregon took UCSB behind the woodshed in a 17-2 win. Game four was the reverse of the first two with Oregon jumping out to a 4-1 seventh inning lead. UCSB then hit a solo home run followed three batters later by a three-run home run to knot the game at four. UCSB had the game-winning run thrown out at home in the ninth on an Aaron Zavala-to-Gavin Grant-to-Jack Scanlon relay to put the game into extras. In the 10th, Checketts pulled Christopher Troye, who seemed to be cruising in favor of James Callahan, who had given up four runs without logging an out in game 2. Callahan got the first two batters before intentionally walking Yovan. Callahan then gave up a walk; a single to right; a single to left; a wild pitch; an error on the third baseman, which should have ended things; two stolen bases and two more base hits before getting inducing Grant, hitter #10, to ground out for the second time in the 10th. UCSB went down 1-2-4 in the bottom half to end the game with a 9-4 Oregon win. If you take out game three, UCSB outhit Oregon but committed four more errors. Oregon jumped all over UCSB's third starter but did not do much against the other three starters, only logging three runs against the three. The Ducks crushed the Gauchos' bullpen, though.

Why would we compete in Bass fishing...More of a Steelhead school.. We already compete in Bass fishing. We had a team compete in the 2019 National Championship.

They are starting a Lefty. Rob Ahlstrom, played his H.S. ball at North Eugene. He is a crafty lefthander. He has only pitched 3 innings this year but was a big part of the lineup in 2019.
On offense.. as a team they have 10 HRs and 10-12 stolen bases. I'd say balanced with power and speed.
Looking forward to watching the games and I like our pitching advantage.
Go BEAVS

Go BEAVS I was going to say that Rob Ahlstrom did not pitch against Omaha, but he started game four against UCSB. He pitched three innings, allowing no runs on two hits and two walks. Ahlstrom was on a pitch count and did not pitch past the third.
