Picked to finish 12th. Clinched a Conference Tournament bye. Playing best team basketball in years.
Could Coach Tinkle be PAC 12 Coach of the Year?
Win the PAC 12 and it's a no question. Finish anywhere above 5th, not so sure.
Thoughts?

Pretty sure they select the COY award for the Pac 12 before the PAC 12 Tournament........if that is what you meant by "Win the PAC 12".

I think WT has done a very nice job with this team, but I don't believe in giving this award for overachieving, particularly since recruiting is part of coaching. If they were in a logjam around 2/3rd, or had suffered a major spat of injuries, then maybe.
That said, I don't know who in the conference actually does deserve it more, but I'd probably go with Cronin. That said, he has some serious talent that hasn't done much this year on his roster, so definitely has arguments against.

I would guess it would be Cronin, but Altman will be a contender if they win the league. Endfield actually has the most talent, so I would say they have actually underachieved.

BTW, Cronin won it last year.

Kragthorpe was Pac 12 football coach of the year in 1989 and the Beavs had a losing record that season. WT deserves lots of credit for his coaching post Arizona debacle.

You'd have to give it to Altman this year. He got his team running again. you could argue Colorado HC as well. Or Cronin, but they're falling off as of late. If the D*cks win the whole thing Altman will get it. Curious underachievers awards? ASU Stanford

Nothing like a little self promotion on the Twitter feed (assuming he has control, or is friends with the person who does have control... of the feed)

If the Beavers win against uo in a couple days it's going to be tough to give it to Altman, could steer some consideration towards Wayne.

Are people still wanting Tinkle fired like they wanted before the season started?

Nothing like a little self promotion on the Twitter feed (assuming he has control, or is friends with the person who does have control... of the feed) Isn't OSU's men's basketball twitter supposed to promote OSU men's basketball? This isn't WT's personal Twitter account, if he even has one.

Nothing like a little self promotion on the Twitter feed (assuming he has control, or is friends with the person who does have control... of the feed) I would hope WT isn’t worrying about or controlling the men’s basketball Twitter feed. But this is exactly what the program’s Twitter feed should be doing — touting the team, players and staff. I don’t know if WT will win it, but he certainly has a case for COY based on team’s performance and where they were picked. Exceeding expectations is routinely factored into coach of the year. Just look at Illinois’s Coach Underwood not being among 10 finalists for national award because the team was highly ranked preseason. By the way, as an Illini fan also, I think given where Illinois basketball has been for last 10 years plus, it is a travesty Underwood not a finalist.

Sure, there's a good case for him. But he isn't going to win it.
