NET -- #29 Massey -- #18
Given that all of our remaining games before the tournament will be against NET top-14 teams, I don't see us falling much. Pretty incredible how this team has risen to the occasion and the sense of urgency we've seen all February.
This should save us from being on edge about the bubble and mid-major conference tournaments.

Just need to take care of business against Cal, and then we’re definitely in the clear. Is it still possible that we get a bye in the first round? The tournament format is a little confusing to me with the potential of moving pieces.
Loving this sense of urgency and hope it continues throughout March. Go beavs!

I think we will get a bye because I would be surprised if Utah was ready in time.

We will get a bye if Utah drops out before 11am tomorrow. All teams would then be reseeded, and there would be no 12th seed to play. If Utah, or any team drops out after 11am tomorrow, there is no reseeding of teams, the bracket remains the same, and whoever was going to play the team that drops out, will get a bye into the next round. At least that's the way I understand it.
From the Pac-12:
"In the event that one or more teams are unable to compete in the Tournament, the Tournament bracket will be modified and teams will be reseeded. All changes to the bracket and reseeding must be made no later than 11:00 am PT on Tuesday, March 2. If a team must withdraw from the Tournament after 11:00 am PT on Tuesday, March 2, the bracket will not be modified, and the opponent of the team will receive a bye into the next round of the Tournament."

If OSU is a double-digit seed, somebody is going to get a very raw deal in their first-round matchup. CBS just moved them to a 10 seed vs South Dakota State. Imagine working really hard as a mid-major to get into the single digit seed in the first round, and then get matchup with a team that's just started making a habit of taking down highly ranked teams on the road. Unless they really move OSU's seeding up, the bracket reveal is going to be a big bummer for someone. www.collegesportsmadness.com/womens-basketball/bracketology

I don't understand why the ducklings are so high in the Massey and net rankings. They see 1-7 against teams that will be going to the big dance.

If that ESPN one holds true, we could meet Louisville next round, again ! I guess I need to be more optimistic.

Well, if the CBS bracket holds true, we face South Carolina in the 2nd round. Ouch. If we win that game, we might as well go ahead and win the whole thing!

Finally, we can get back at them after the 1994 first round loss

We put ourselves here with our play. Imagine Louisville or SC staring at OSU as a 2nd round game!

I don't understand why the ducklings are so high in the Massey and net rankings. They see 1-7 against teams that will be going to the big dance. Somehow Massey has UO at #7, despite being 1-7 against the (Massey) Top 25. Their only win against a team currently better than #30 was their first win against us. And of course, the computer doesn't have eyes to see the difference between those two OSU teams.
But UO has no bad losses. And Massey looks at margin of victory, which the 'ucks excelled at early in the season. Arizona lost to ASU and WSU (both in OT) and rarely ran up the score on anyone, and despite a better overall record and wins over UO (twice) and UCLA, UA is only #12.

No bad losses but also no good wins.

FWIW... UO dropped to #19 in the AP Poll and we got 9 votes for top 25

Utah WILL play in the tournament - so our game with Cal is on.
