Going to the bottom of the 8th, Oregon State leads 4-2.

Wild Thing! 3 hit batsmen so far for Frisch. Get that man some glasses! Upper 90s, I wouldn't want to dig in too much at the plate. Lol. Beaver pitchers aren't shy about pitching inside. We have never been shy about fighting for the inside of the plate

Nice outing by Salgado and Watkins. Really good to get game experience in a 4-2 game where the pressure is still there.

It sure seems like our pitching has more K’s and less pitching to contact in the past. Might be due to some big arms. Never have I seen so many Beaver pitchers consistently throwing in the 90’s.

That was fun. Nothing like grinding out a few runs for a win.

The safety squeeze by Hamilton that allowed McMahan to tie it at 2 in the 4th was absolutely perfectly executed. Even turned into an infield single for Cole!

Am I missing something or did anyone else find it odd that it was Verburg and not Mully closing out a relatively close game? He only threw to two batters the whole weekend for that matter.

I wouldn't read too much into it. We have A LOT of arms in the bullpen. I think they wanted to see certain guys get reps. I'm sure we will see plenty of Mully moving forward.

MC said at the start of they year that he will use both of them in the closer role, depending on the match up.

We knew pitching would be a strength of this team. I think they proved that, and more. Think about NM hitters today, mentally......one good pitcher after another.....if Frisch can get something to add to his heater, he will be damn near unhittable

Gotta say that I like this team. I started having flashbacks as we struggled to put runs up early in this game. Remember the past couple of seasons? We'd unleash for a lot of runs in a game and then struggle to get a hit in the next. It was frustrating. Then it felt like the non-hitting became contagious.
Loved the way the Beavs just kept working it...a hit here, a bunt there. Whatever it takes. That's my Beavs.

"You must immediately establish your fastball on the inner half of the plate". The hitter must be made aware that you will pitch inside.
Dorman teaches that.
After 4 games in Surprise, OSU pitchers:
Issued 9 BB to the opponents. Hit 9 opposing batters.
And yea, I say unto thee . . . . it was established.
