This was a police officer who died of injuries suffered in the Line of Duty. He stood in a door. This was courage and not a damn thing political about it. From experience he wasn't thinking about politics, courage, or anything like this, he was thinking about doing his job that we asked him to do. Just take a quiet moment and then say thank you.
End of my rant.

Sadly passed away from natural causes.
Still scant information on the shooting of the woman who got shot that day. Weird. Why do we immediately know the name of every other cop in America that was involved in a shooting but there’s no news about that?

We don’t immediately know the name of every other cop in America involved in a shooting. I’m sure that has to do with local laws and investigative protocols. Or then again maybe it’s all a giant deep-state conspiracy.

I am pretty sure that the civil case is still going, in its fourth year now.

Sadly passed away from natural causes. Still scant information on the shooting of the woman who got shot that day. Weird. Why do we immediately know the name of every other cop in America that was involved in a shooting but there’s no news about that? The why is very easy. While almost every other police has mandated reporting requirements, Congress has created absolutely no reporting requirements for the Capitol Police. Furthermore, Congress has made the Capitol Police exempt from FOIA requests. Moreover, unlike almost all police in America, the Capitol Police are exempt from wearing body cameras. The Biden administration has made an internal determination that Ashli Babbitt's civil rights (though apparently her civil rights do not include the right to life) were not violated by getting herself fatally shot, so the Capitol Officer's name will not be released. Basically, Congress has determined that none of us are entitled to that information or even collecting information for us to access, so we will not get it. The truly awful thing is that the information that we are getting about Sicknick's death has been in the government's possession for at least two months, and we are only just getting that information right now. The "crazy" thing about Sicknick was that the reporting was so divergent from reality. I mean he spoke with his family after the attack and told them that he was ok, nothing about being beaten with a fire extinguisher (which did not happen). No bear mace conversations with friends and family. No corrections from the media. No admissions that several media outlets were 100% dead wrong. The blatant and outright lies! It is galling. And then to have the "facts" associated with Officer Sicknick dying of natural causes form a prominent part of the impeachment of Donald Trump. It would be unbelievable in a third-rate banana republic. The fact that it is happening here..............it's like we are all in a terrible episode of the Twilight Zone and about 50% of the cast does not realize it or is just ignoring it because it is working for them at this current moment. Ashli Babbitt was a hero at one time in her life, serving in the military for 14 years in both Afghanistan and Iraq. She earned a Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal and an Iraq Campaign Medal. I hear a lot of vagaries about how she believed this or said that but few specifics, which usually means that it is a bunch of made-up hogwash that the Left is trying to feed everyone. I mean, she was an Obama supporter before she became a Trump supporter. Still, I do not think that I can overstate how important it is that the Capitol Police act quickly and effectively to keep Congress safe. If Ashli Babbitt had to die for that to happen, that stinks. But she brought it upon herself. I understand that it had to happen for the greater good. America is a nation of laws. America is a democratic republic, and all Congress members should feel safe to do their job. Still, I believe that some more details and facts and overall transparency (the identity of the officer would be largely unhelpful in my opinion) would go at least some way toward bringing the country together.

BUT a simple search of Casey Codding's name along with Finicum's shows what you say. Worse, the results are scary. "TRAITOR!" "The Murderer of Malheur" "Cop who Shot Finicum in the Back" "Killer Identified" Wow. People are nuts.

No sane person ventures to Burns in the dead of winter. Lots of good people live and work in Burns and the surrounding area, but even the birds leave the Refuge for that part of winter.
