Ok the box score said Devan wrestled Bianchi in the first dual (a PAC final LY btw), but Evan Hooper twitter said Shaner won. I'm going with the guy that is mat side! Shaner looks good. Wrestles aggressive. Glad he'll be back next year, too. He's fun to watch. Feel like I've watched him for about 7-8 years now between seeing him at a lot of high school tournaments and then saw him a ton wrestling for CCC in the NW tournaments. He's a scoring machine, constant movement, always on the attack.

Now that was a much better result than the first quad event!

Does it sting just a bit to see Whittake in the wrong Orange and black? Austin Harris (ok state heavyweight) went to Roseburg... this got me thinking about that Roseburg team compared to the current CV team. 2017 Roseburg sent 27 out of a possible 28 kids to state that year - 13 kids placed at state, 5 won 6A state titles. 3 kids went D1 (Cal Poly, Michigan, Stanford), another kid could have gone D1 but chose not to wrestle in college. I think 2 or 3 went Juco/small college. But unlike CV which has some high profile transfers, I think they were all homegrown Roseburg kids. Hated seeing them at tournaments. The parents were loud and obnoxious and they kicked our butts and handed out a lot of beatings along the way lol.

I remember going to some matches in the mid 70's when Ed Burton (later at Oregon City) was the coach. I don't remember any team state championships until the maybe the late 90's. Crater seemed to have our number for a long time. But the big duals may have had 1000 people in the stands.
