I'm new here, so pardon me if this has been discussed before, or if there is a board for it already... but I thought the West Side Reser remodel was contracted out in the early spring, construction to start at the end of football this season. What's the latest? Thanks, and Go Beavs!

Supposed to start after next season. Cost is down to about $145 million. From what I have heard, it will not exactly mirror the east side, and that the loge seating will be awesome, perhaps the best seats in the stadium.

Interesting. Another year out. I found the links of OSU requesting the Design-Build proposals/bids back in January. And this link is Hoffman construction requesting proposals in July for an August bid opening, they were looking for Mechanical and Electrical sub-contractor proposals. publicnotices.djcoregon.com/search/detail.aspx?detail=11492420That makes me feel they're closer than a year for project start.

Not a chance. I'm wrong all too often. Covid impacts, especially to funding, and poof goes the schedule. On the other hand, by July Hoffman is seeking proposals which means they've been working, so they're funded thru design at least. And design-build is a reasonably aggressive approach to get things built quickly. Start work on the foundation features while final design gets worked out on the upper features, etc. I'm probably being too hopeful, but it's just been a long time since the Reser remodel started with Dennis Erickson. And since spring this project has been so quiet, nothing seems to be out there. I was hoping I just missed "the news".

It will look very nice. And an on-campus entity will also be incorporated into the remodel.
East side construction began in June, 2003, with the four towers and the removal of the old east grandstand. Temporary bleachers for 2004, and the new grandstand opened in Sept., 2005. Not sure of the timeline for the new project once construction begins.
