Scary is a good word to describe those unattractive women!

Give those freshmen you think are so great about two more years and you may be right. But, how many of them will still be around? They are speading around playing time to a lot of players, with most of them playing less than 15 minutes per game. How may 5 stars, along with Sabally, Shelly etc. will want to stick around if they aren't playing 30minutes a game? Enough talent should stick around to help in a couple years, but others will move along.....because they want to PLAY basketball, not sit on a bench for most of the game.
They should be a very good basketball team this year, but not the all world team mentioned in this post. They were better last year.

Totally agree with mancarl. The Ducks have too much talent to keep everyone happy. Hello transfer portal. I was not implying that they are better than last year’s team. They are too young and inexperienced to be that. The post is only about enormous potential. But go Beavs, beat them on Sunday.

I am not going to agree to that - he is a Rah , Rah guy blessed with Nike and attractive player draw for those that like the bling. Where I see a difference, is I don't think that Crystalballs actually scouts guys. If they contact the U and say they are 5 star All Americans - he is all in...even if the kid was from Iceland or was actually referring to his high school bowling team ! Yes, that explains his success at Gonzaga. Right?

As I recall a bunch if 2 and 3 star recruits took it to and beat a bunch of 4 and 5 star ducks. That's where. The rubber really meets the road.but so far the lady ducks are proving to be a good team.

Correct to say that there are no 'lady' college squads. Regarding the women's college basketball team that plays their home games at Gill Coliseum. They are: a.) the Beavers ("Beavs" suffices) or b.) the Oregon State University Women's Basketball Team.

I happen to like the term, "Lady Beavs". Like the above post about the Lady Vols. I've been using the term Lady Beavs for a couple years now. I don't see a problem with it. And, no, I'm not a troll. OSU alum, '96.
Go Beavs!

Lady Beav fans from a Lady Beaver fan: This Sunday we play the Lady Ducks. For those not intimately familiar, theirs is one of the most talented rosters ever assembled in women's college history. Only some UConn rosters could rival. They have five new 5-star freshmen who were all McDonald's All-Americans, their individual state's Gatorade POY, and rated in the top 22 players in the country: Sydney Parrish (#8), PG Te-Hina PaoPao (#11), Kylee Watson (#17), Maddie Scherr (#19), and Angela Dugalic (#22). [WNBA player Kelsey Plum, all-time leading scorer in women's NCAA history, who went to the same high school as PG PaoPao has been quoted as saying that PaoPao at age 14 could have started for any college in the country.] In addition 5-star transfer from Texas, 6-7 Sedona Prince (who was #8 in the class of 2018) is finally recovered from her broken leg. Also from the class of 2018 they have deadly shooter, 5-star transfer from Maryland, Taylor Mikesell (#32 in class), and #61 Taylor Chavez (2020 Pac 12 6th-player of year and 2020 3-point % leader in Pac12 at 47%). Returning starter and deadly 3-point shooter Erin Boley was the #5 player in the country in class of 2016, one spot behind someone named Sabrina. They also have two veteran players in Australian Jaz Shelley (42% on 3's last year) and 6-6 Sr. center Lydia Giomi. Finally, from the International class of 2018 is #3 player 6-5 Nyara Sabally, who sat out the last 2 years with injuries, and who of course is the younger sister of Satou Sabally (Former Duck and now at WNBA Dallas). They of course pummeled both Colorado (82-53) and Utah (85-43). Should be an interesting game of Sunday in Corvallis (Pac-12 Networks at 4:00) Agreed, best team money can buy!! $$$$$$$$

OSU alum, '96. Go Beavs! Why? I bet if you were to ask all of the OSU WBB team members whether they prefer their team be called “Lady Beavs”, the a answer would be 13-0 against. In addition, I’ve never once heard Rueck or his assistants use that name for their team.

Women or girls?

OSU alum, '96. Go Beavs! Do you call the men's the team the "Gentlemen Beavs"? The term "Lady" brings a lot of associated connotations for me, and are not consistent with how I want our women's team to behave on the court. As in, a lady probably doesn't bring connotations of securing a rebound and anybody looking to take it away is going to bet a mouthful of elbow.

If you can find me one citation on the OSU web site, WBB media guide, beaverwbb twitter feed, Ron Cowan broadcasts, Scott Rueck or team member interviews or press conferences, where that nickname is used then I might "wonder" what the players prefer. In their complete absence I think it's quite fair to conclude that they do not prefer "Lady Beavs". If you don't care about any of that, go right ahead. It's a free country.

I made my opinion clear on this in past posts; pretty much been summed up by a couple of posters above and the "Lady" qualifier has not appeared hardly at all on this website, and everywhere else except the South.
