I dunno. That letter activates my bs detectors. I don't think it's on the level. My experience is that anyone that "righteous" is usually more than happy to tell you who they are. Faux News loves their supposed "war on Christmas" so I'm not surprised to see them making a meal out of this. Is this house really the only one on the street or in the neighborhood with Christmas lights up? If not, did all the others also get these mysterious anonymous letters? I'll be interested to see how this story shakes out.

I don’t see any reference to Derek Anderson in that story.

In a weird twist, to your dismay, this may be, and most likely is, true.

I don’t see any reference to Derek Anderson in that story. Geez you guys! Did you even read the damn thing? Yes, they’re a bit behind the times career wise. “The letter has received pushback on social media, with former Baltimore Ravens quarterback Derek Anderson replying, "Saw this coming a long time ago. 'If I can't have it nobody can' or 'if they have it we all deserve it' that's not life." “

Doesn't even ask the homeowner to take the lights down or turn them off. It's just a bunch of incoherent rambling about how they don't like "twinkling, colorful lights" for a bunch of non-sequitur reasons. It reads to me more like a cry for help from someone who might be clinically depressed (“During these unprecedented times we have all experience challenges which casual words just don’t describe what we’re feeling..”) If they sincerely want people to "come together collectively", sending an anonymous letter is a contradiction in terms. Hell, you can't please everyone. My neighbors recently painted their house electric yellow and I don't like looking at it. But I keep such thoughts to myself. PS. If anyone wants to complain about my lawn jockey just save your breath OK? His name is Fritz and he’s not hurting anybody.

The outrage of the day.
Why is something called Crimewatch even discussing this? Where’s the crime?
And then of course you need a whack job retired footballer to quote.
Perfect.

Harshin’ on an OSU hero. Nice. The scorecard: Commenters that didn’t read first: 2 Commenter that calls our ex-qb a “whack” job: 1. Heck, he’s the only reason I posted it. Well done.

Sorry, but I don’t rank the comments of NFL players about what life is very highly, even if he went to OSU.
As for the letter, why is that even newsworthy? It’s asinine. Christmas is not just a religious holiday—which is why folks keep trying to reclaim it as a religious holiday. Nope, it’s pretty secular. So if people don’t “celebrate” Christmas, they should—that is, they should enjoy the season of good cheer, lights, and good food. You don’t have to believe in Jesus to enjoy a little Christmas gathering. Hell, in Japan, Christmas Eve is all about getting laid.
