Mauro Michel has changed weights and schools. Now at Stayton HS, holding down the 132 spot. Pinning all of his opponents so far. He's a tough one... He jumped up a few weights! I see that some of our targets are getting a lot of visits and calls right now. I'm sure the staff is working hard right now. |

MM's next competition should be Wednesday according to Trackwrestling. 4A special district 3. Then another spec dist scheduled on Thursday. I think one of these must be a duplicate? Then state on the 26th.

Mauro Michel has changed weights and schools. Now at Stayton HS, holding down the 132 spot. Pinning all of his opponents so far. Right on. I hadn't seen him in any dual meet summaries so now it makes sense. Most of our signed/committed kids are cruising along. Last time I checked, Barnes was 5-0, Ricky Bell was 9-0 and now wrestling at 138. Cael Brunson 5-0. Whisenhunt and Eveland were both 3-0 or so. Ruchti was 4-1 with the 1 loss being the 5-4 loss to Rowley. I'm probably forgetting somebody. Looks like we'll have unofficial state championship tournaments on June 25-26.. 1A/2A @ Sweet Home, 3A @ Redmond 4A @ Cascade HS, 5A @ Cottage Grove, 6A @ Newberg. Glad they were able to get something in place. |

Have it on good authority that 2 highly ranked Juco guys are in town for a campus visit starting tonight. Build the Dam! also some rumblings that Joe Grello (174 lbs/Rutgers) might be visiting as well. He's in the transfer portal, looks like he'd have 1 year. 2019 NCAA qualifier. |

Would like to have had him, but we have a lot of guys at that weight, and Anderson (hopefully) coming in next year. |

Both those JUCO guys are solid and will add maturity to the new guys as well.Great pick ups!I figure recruiting has slowed with kids training for fargo but curious who was here.

Speculating of course, but that could explain (grades?) why things seemed to be quiet for him on the recruiting front. Definitely one to keep an eye on. |
