Anyone have thoughts on what the starting lineup will be and who will be key contributors off the bench? Other Thompson I have no idea who will be starting. Also, anyone have any links to articles that discuss the above?

1 - Hunt 2 - Lucas 3 - Thompson 4 - Andela 5 - Tucker
Although Tinkle loves Zach R. and Hollins in the starting line up. He also loves Thompson at the point. And who knows how good all the new guys are, especially Franklin and Johnson. So who knows, but it’s fun to think about. Lots of options.

I think Thompson will likely start at a guard spot. Just think they’ll get killed on the boards with him at the 3, especially with Lucas and Hunt being relatively small. Very interested to see how Calloo and Silver, two of the JC transfers as well as Franklin and frosh Johnson are progressing. Calloo definitely has some talent. Hopefully at least a couple of those can contribute solid minutes. If so, team could be relatively deep. Also interested in seeing how Andela looks. Would give Beavs another big body who hopefully moves better than Silva. I think Silva can contribute, but his effectiveness is very matchup dependent.

Hunt-point 2 Lucas Zach- Thompson 3- hopefully a new player like trequk or Nichol st guy 4-6'8 guy 5. Tucker or Oklahoma st guy The OK St guy is Calloo, and though he might be able to play some 5 depending on matchup, I really see him as a 4. Andela is listed as a forward (6-8, 248), but I remember watching some tape on him last year and looked to be primarily a back to basket offensive player. I think options at 5 are Tucker and then Andela or Silva depending on matchups. On paper Beavs appear to have a fair amount of options at the 3 and 4. Now just need to see if any of them are good options. That none immediately jump to mind as starters is worrisome, but I guess we shall see. Also am interested to see if Lucas has worked on his game to where he can be a viable option at PG at least for a few minutes a game.

G-Thompson G-Lucas F-Alitisha F-Calloo C-Andele This is what I’m thinking except hoping Tucker can earn start at 5. Think we’ll need that length. I also hope without Tres that Hollins takes a real step forward. But I have real doubts since he really hasn’t yet and he seemed to play his best when playing with Tres.

My theory is that Tinkle has real trouble breaking out of his comfort zone. It's why he is so hesitant to sub, even when his starter is exhausted, and why he is afraid to look for a different starter even when a starter is not panning out. I am really hoping that Tinkle is willing and able to cobble the right lineup out of the roster this year. There are a lot of intriguing dudes; I'd like to see who develops to contribute.

Unfortunately I think you’re right Seastape. And I agree there seems to be some intriguing new guys. On paper it looks like the Beavs have some depth. Not sure if it is quality depth, but I’d like to see Tinkle use it. Unfortunately, Tinkle doesn’t have much of a track record of going deep into the roster. Thompson will likely play a lot of minutes — and I’m fine with that — but I’d really like to see a lot of guys play 10-20 minutes until we see who really deserves more than that. Hopefully some other players have really stepped it up over last year to show they deserve starter minutes. There are some guys from last year’s team you could argue “deserve” a chance at 28+ mpg, but I really don’t think there are any sure things based on last year’s performance. Looking forward to first few games to see who has upped their game and become more consistent, and what newcomers can show us something on the court.

My head will explode if there isn't a lot of different lineups with a lot of guys getting a lot of minutes, at least early on. Thompson-yes. 35+/game (not necessarily in OOC, but I expect it in conference play). Everyone else? Unless and until someone really breaks away from the pack, I'd like to see the other 165- minutes be split fairly evenly amongst 6-8 guys with the rest getting the occasional clean up minutes.
