Rueck is so good at interviews, never a doubt he will rep us well, Aleah did well too.
One thing that I was waiting for was Cori Close and UCLA, she again said ( I thlnk) that they have 8 players available. They are suing someone ? to let the 2 Aussie players come, the issue being there are no in person classes at UCLA so they don't meet requirements? So, 14 players on their roster, I'm confused why they are down to 8, any clarification appreciated. Potter & Anstey are the two players that are not here from Australia. The girl from Germany is here, dual citizenship.

I skimmed through this, but only found the segments where Aleah spoke (no patience to go through it at normal speed). I didn’t see anything from Coach Rueck, though his picture was on the screen. For those that saw the program live, did Coach Rueck have anything to say? I wonder if they will be posting any more material from the event?

You are correct beavsteve, I checked the other segments and they all stop short of the coaches taking questions from the media. I'm guessing they didn't think they could use the voices of media folks online without permission? Who knows, if I find a more complete version I'll post it. I wish I could remember what he said. I think he talked about the better communication that came from doing zoom versus normal office in person conversation and ....that's all I can remember, nothing new, it was very short, about 1 question per couch.

Whoever this host is.....she is totally unprepared to conduct an interview! Can't the Pac-12 come up with someone that knows women's basketball and can communicate?

There were four 30 min segments today, with 3 teams each. The players took questions from the host for the first 15 mins, then they (and the host) dropped off. Then the coaches took questions from the media for the next 15 mins. Basically Aleah had a couple questions and Scott had a couple questions. They both were great.

I found the 30-minute zoom sessions a bit lacking. I would've liked to have seen more Q&A with each of the coaches. Fortunately, OSU WBB has a ZOOM session tonight!

It was just too short, not much content, not sure why, the cost / min couldn't be that high, and the replay only being the first half? I think I will go give them a comment (not a piece of my mind, too precious)

Taylor Jones was on the JoeBeaver show today with Mike Parker and Jon Warren(1240am). She discussed the pandemic and how hard it was funding a hoop to play on with all the restrictions due to covid this summer. She also said 12/13 players in the roster can shoot the three ball, which is the first time in the Rueck era according to Jones. So much versatility on this roster...just so many talented newcomers so the ceiling for this team is very high imo. Color me excited...

If you checked out the new additions on the team it should have been obvious that not only was the team loades with 3pt shooters but that they were high percentage 3pt shooters. This makes this team, along with their inside strength a very difficult team to defend as long as they maintain ball movement in and out and around the perimeter. Players who require to generate their offense via ball possession would be a detriment to a team like this. You can certainly elevate 3 pt shooting percentage by working the ball to get them open looks and not just throwing them the ball as last resort closing second shot clock desperation options. perimeter shooting and strong post play are very complimentory to each other. Passing and teamwork will be the key to the success of this team.
