5th is still very likely a top 20 team, so that seems pretty reasonable. Personally, if this team gels like I think it will, I see them as 3rd in the conference and a #3 seed. But I expect it to be very crowded at the top as well, with little separation between 1-5. Maybe Stanford puts it together and runs away with it, but it has a looks of a season where the championship race comes down to the wire.

Hope you're right that the league is competitive enough that the championship comes down to the wire....
I will say, however, if I was coaching this year's Stanford team and I lost more than two games in conference I'd drown myself...
They have the most loaded, and the deepest, roster I've ever seen in the PAC - ever. If anyone can think of a team with as much talent as suits up on this Stanford roster, I'd like to hear from you!!! GO BEAVS!!

I don't think this is our year to contend for the conference either. We're currently too dependent on young players. Our recruiting class of 3 years ago hasn't worked out as hoped for - Trish is gone and Andrea isn't allowed to play, so only Jasmine is available, and, thus far, she hasn't come into her own.
We'll be good this year, but much better next year.

Rueck doesn't need great offense to win it all. He coaches great half court defense. With the right pieces their he can shut anybody down. Taylor needs to work on foot work defensively to play and not foul out. Both Taya and Washington st. Girl have good defensive feet. Rueck runs about as good of a zone defense as anybody anywhere with the right pieces. I think it's their. I think we can do it! If we can find one lock down perimeter player this year I think will be fine. Both girls comming in love playing defense! Savannah might be it!
