Does UCLA have the personnel to run a 5 out offense?
Seems unlikely that all 5 could be effective and if they aren’t a threat their defender will just play help?
Not sure Cori can pull this off.

5 out offence will generate a lot of zone defenses - so they better be able to shoot as well as they dish and deal..... Close is bringing in a lot of talent to UCLA so they will be quite successful no matter what they run.... But "final four" and "national championship" ? I think she's got more than a way to go before that's gonna happen..... It's possible she won't make the "Final 4" in the Pac this year..... But, in her favor, she has 2 of the best players in the conference in Onyenware & Osborne.... GO BEAVS!!!!

The worst 3 pt shooting team in the pac-12 is going to a 5 out offense? Interesting.

Have the Bruins even won a PAC-12 regular season or tournament championship under Coach Close? Baby steps Cori.

Geez. Give her a break. She didn't say that UCLA was going to the Final Four. On the contrary, she said that her team has NOT reached that level, and that teams at that level have certain characteristics that she hopes her team can emulate. What is there to criticize in that?

“We haven’t been to a Final Four yet, we haven’t won a national championship yet,” Close said......."That’s going to help take us to that next level, but we’re looking to go to make that next step.” ------ What is there to criticize in that? Nothing much really. Except it's UCLA, it's Cori Close and I don't like either one much. The season is a maybe, and, like everyone I'm a bit testy and short of patience. Especially on Election Day when half the nation is going to prove to the other half how stupid they are.... But this is no big hate thing, it's just basketball and maybe it's a bit chippy.....
At any rate, there is one thing we all agree on here --- we want to see the Beavs have a great season..... GO BEAVS & GO VOTE!!

Perhaps it might be more accurate to state that each half of the nation is going to prove to the other half how stupid they are. UCLA is a good program. I root for them outside the conference.

Didn’t Robinson run something like that here with the Men? That’s the big downside - is you don’t have really smart players that read the defense in sync, it just looks like street ball. Regardless, every offense is about creating openings for individual strengths to shine, so I’m personally not a fan of the approach at the collegiate level where a) they aren’t professions and b) they don’t have the practice time of professionals.
Rueck already designs defenses to exploit individual decencies and take away strengths, so I’m guessing it doesn’t change a whole lot for us.

Unlike UCLA, I'm glad our foreign players are all here, and no one has opted out this year. UCONN had 3 foreign players struggling to get to the U.S. , don't know if they ever made it. The extra year of eligibility made it easier for players to opt out. We've been blessed on both accounts. Here is a link about top world players for the current class, several Pac-12 players on it, none of ours, that's fine: www.worldexposurereport.com/news_article/show/1129702

Jas showed her commitment to the program when she opted to stay in town rather than going home. It sounds like she really worked on her conditioning and speed over the summer. She was already in phenomenal shape, I can't wait to watch her play. It is time for her to make a big jump in abilities and if she gets enough playing time to get comfortable I think we will see it.

What are you, her press agent? I don’t have anything against her. But before she starts talking about making Final Fours and winning national championship she might be better served by mentioning some more achievable goals that she has yet to accomplish in her coaching tenure.

She has done less with more talent than some other coaches including Rueck. The baby blue bears consistently under perform.
