It seems this year's team has quite a number of lineup options and it will be interesting to see how they gel together. We have several players with position flexibility which makes the number of lineup options higher.
Here are my thoughts on who we will see at varying times in the positions (my guess at the starting five listed first in each position):
1 - Aleah, Teresa, Noelle 2 - Sasha, Jas, Savannah 3 - Ellie, Jas, Sasha, Savannah 4 - Taya, Jo, Ellie, Jelena 5- Taylor, Jelena
Taylor has added to her shooting repertoire and I think will have a very big year. I do think we will occasionally see Taylor and Jelena on the floor together although I expect Jelena will primarily be serving as Taylor's back-up.
Looking forward to seeing how it plays out. Can't wait for the season to start and hoping the now worsening again pandemic doesn't stop things.

Rueck said she has "guardish" skills and we know she is an outstanding shooter, so I think she fits there. Yes... very exciting possibilities!!!

Actually, one other change would be to add Noelle to the off-guard position. Her best bball attribute is her excellent shooting. Her size, speed and lack of quickness work against her as point guard. Though she is a great shooter, she has had trouble getting open; however that might change, as I think that this year perimeter players are going to find more easy open shots than last year due to improvement in our inside play.

Jovana at the 5 would be an obvious choice, too. But all that really matters is who plays in the big games, not the little games. Noelle won't play. Savannah probably has the athleticism and scoring ability to outplay Jas by tournament time. 1 - Aleah, Teresa 2 - Sasha, Savannah, Jas 3 - Ellie, Sasha, Savannah, Jas 4 - Taya, Jovana, Ellie, Jelena, Taylor 5 - Taylor, Jelena, Jovana

I fully expect Aleah, Ellie, Taya, and Taylor will be starters and Sasha probably has the inside track for the other starter, but I wouldn't completely rule out Jas in the early games. If Sasha gets the start, I would expect the next two off the bench to be Jas and Jovana. Jelena's minutes will depend on Taylor's minutes. I'll reallty be interested in seeing if Savannah can earn playing time with all the talent in front of her. Teresa will probably get limited minutes in relief of Aleah.

Our small lineup is probably something like Aleah, Jas, Sasha, Ellie and Taya. It would be a waste of all the length on our roster, but I think that would be a fun group to watch on offense and be a different type of matchup problem for opponents and still could defend most teams effectively. Having 5 players that can all shoot the 3, slash to the basket or hit pull-up 15 footers gives the defense no place to hide any weaknesses. That lineup seems in the mold of what the good mid-majors aspire to have.

If ana is a good ball handler I could see aleah sliding to the shooting guard sometimes also.

I am hearing good things about Jelena's progression in practice. Sounds to me like she may make more of an immediate impact than a lot of people are expecting given that the team already has Taylor at the 5 spot.

Now, that's sure sounds like good news to me.....If you hear any more good things be sure to send them along... The Beavs need some breakthrough performances this year....Jelena growing beyond expectations could be one of them.
Shifting gears: do we know when the WBB schedule will be released??? GO BEAVS!!

This is good to hear, although I thought we also heard she hasn't practiced the last few days. Do you have any info on that? As much as we hear good things about Jelena, I still have a hard time believing she will get a lot of minutes this season. Obviously, a lot will depend on Taylor's ability to play more minutes this season, and how all the other bigs fit in. I don't think we can count out Jovana taking minutes somewhere on the front line, and SR even said that Ellie could step in at post for minutes if needed. I'm really pulling for Jelena though. 6'9" is quite a presence, and she obviously has skills and is a good passer for someone her size.

What I heard is that she missed one practice that was related to her injury recovery but nothing problematic. I don't know details.

In the pic it looked like she was icing her knees. Which wouldn't be her previous problem. Hope she's back at it.
