I'm not disagreeing with anything you've said, except for the Andersen did some decent things part, but didn't Andersen tell Sitake to change the defense from 4-3 to a 3-4. I don't even think Sitake had experience running that defense. I don't know if it would have been any better if they'd stuck with the 4-3, but I always thought it was a bad decision to switch the way they did. The 3-4 was all GAG. Sitake had never coached the 3-4 in his entire life. Sitake played fullback, too, so he had never even played in a 3-4. I have always been floored that Sitake, of all people, was GAG's choice to implement a 3-4 and that they did it all in one season versus trying to implement a 3-4 in a more phased approach. GAG 100% did not know what he was doing, and Sitake's one season is an excellent example of GAG's ineptitude. Fukker.

They are an independent. This year they scheduled tough against some Power 5 teams and, of course, those games disappeared. I do believe if that they continue to to run the table, they deserve consideration for a playoff berth over 1 or 2 loss Power 5 teams. Have watched them twice and they are pretty freaking good. BYU because of Covid does not play one power 5 team thus should not receive a bid for the playoff. If they go undefeated they probably deserve a shot of a NY6 bowl.

Was it GAG or Sitake who came up with the brilliant defensive scheme of running to unoccupied places on the field at the snap and waiting for something to happen? Inquiring minds want to know. Go Beavs!!
