linkStanford #2 OSU #15. Not accounting for our 6-9 center of course. Arizona, ucks and UCLA ranked above us. Arizona way overrated IMHO.

I hate to be critical, but unfortunately you can tell they don't put too much effort into this. The fact that Kennedy is mentioned, but the addition of two grad transfers and one returning starter for the Beavs is not mentioned, tells you a lot about what their 'research', but overall, they have it right in who should be tough this year, and it won't be easy for the Beavs to land in the top 3 of the Pac.

linkArizona way overrated IMHO. Based on what? They play great defense and have a nice collection of players in addition to McDonald. Transfer Pellington was Big 12 FOY several years ago and could give them another double digit scorer. Out of the ranked teams I'd be inclined to pick on UCLA as the overrated one.

I expect USC to be a dangerous team this year. Possibly Utah too. Agreed on both. USC has been underachieving for years but maybe they are finally ready to put that behind them.

Without Gill crowds, OSU WBB not as dangerous, but I can understand how ESPN has us rated #5 in PAC-12, and, #15 in the NCAA Division 1. Five (5) PAC-12 Teams ranked in TOP 15 is pretty darn good. I think by end of season (barring serious injuries to our squad) OSU WBB can be a TOP 3 PAC-12 Team.

I think UCLA has a huge advantage with no crowds. Arizona, Stanford, Yucks and Beavs all play to large crowds that will most certainly hurt their home court advantage. UCLA plays to such small crowds that it will seem normal to them to have nobody there.

I didn't go back further than that. Are you thinking of USC? Wazzu and USC both have truly pathetic attendance for WBB.

I know USC is pathetic with attendance but was not aware that UCLA was getting more people attending their games. I was there for a game in 2014 and they had less than 1000 there.

They've made some strides then. It surprises me a bit that Stanford's attendance isn't better. I guess their fans have gotten a little bit bored after so many years of really good teams. Huh, digging back a little deeper, UCLA actually drew more on average than Stanford in 2017-18. Anyway sometimes attendance figures can change rapidly, as Oregon and Arizona have both shown the last several seasons.

USC has a big advantage with no fans allowed at games - they're very used to it, and won't miss a beat.

thanks for posting the attendance info bvrbooster.....
Even a quick look shows how much attendance is influenced by the uptick in a team's win-loss record.... Stanford stays pretty much the same no matter what, and to me that indicates a hard core base of support with very little impact from "bandwagon" fans who gravitate to the gym when their team is winning, but not otherwise....
The Ducks, Beavs and Wildcats had very impressive attendance numbers this past year......U of A has really shown what a combination of winning on the court, and intense community PR work can do.....The Arizona coach (Adia Barnes) has really waded into the Tucson community-at-large, speaking everywhere that 10 people congregate, and she has won over a LOT of fans to her as a person, and to her team.....
The Pac is the currently the national leader in WBB talent and it looks like when fans are allowed back in the gyms, we are going to see a lot of programs with impressive attendance numbers.... U of A, ASU, UCA, Stanford, Oregon, OSU all are showing solid support for their WBB programs....
When things finally re-open I'd love to see the Beavs average 7,000 per game.....To reach this number will involve considerably improved PR work beyond what's going on now, but it's certainly do-able if the students would get off their butts and show up in numbers the team deserves... GO BEAVS!!
