How about some 6 AM starts so we can get some early Eastern and Central time zone exposure. Fertile recruiting zones. And don't forget the all important Great Britain rugby cross over recruiting opportunities

9 a.m. starts make no sense. Why should we pander to the Eastern time zone when our base market is the Pacific and (to a lesser extent) Mountain time zones? For every East Coast viewer we'd gain, we'd lose two from our own market who won't be up at 9 a.m.
With streaming becoming so popular, and with so many people watching games on devices other than their TVs, the Pac-12 can easily TV/stream all the games and start them at 1 and/or 4 p.m., and save one game for the 7 p.m. TV window. Much better for the West Coast TV market, and the local fan bases.

No one on the Eastern or Central time zone is going to stay up to watch a 9 or 10 pm west coast game on Saturday night. They are going to be either in bed or out and about on Saturday night. Even on the West Coast eyeballs matter. We were sitting in a airport once talking to a Fox Seattle producer. He educated us. Apple Cup/Civil War weekend. Apple Cup was for last two places. Civil War was for Rose Bowl berth. Guess which one they were going to show. Seattle/Spokane versus Portland eyeballs. BTW, he bought a round. Expense account he said with a huge smile.

Having been to a few Wisconsin games that start at 11am local time, I can tell you it would absolutely decimate the student section to play a game that early. Losing your loudest and rowdiest fans (no disrespect to the crew in the lower levels of the West side) would be a real killer to home field advantage. One a year wouldn't be a deal breaker. More than that would be tough to swallow. Instead of “Jump Around” the Wisky fans did the “Yawn Around”. Not the same effect.
