I get up at 6 or 7 on weekends anyways so I personally don't mind. I'd rather watch the Pac 12 than big 10 or lowly SEC game that usually fill the 9 to 1239 slot. But id be irritated if i was a season ticket holder and this happened more than once a year, and even that game would piss me off.

I wouldn't mind it this season.. especially with no fans in attendance this season... plus more games on National TV would be good for OSU..plus it means game would be over by like 12:30-1 pm.. so would have the rest of the day to do stuff I used to like watching games at 9-10am when I lived in Hawaii. Some east coast games began at 6/6:30am HST. I agree, being largely done with football by 2-3pm was kinda nice actually. If I recall, they were only talking about 1 game a week at 9am, not all games or many games. Basically it was one game a season for every team at 9am in order to ensure a national audience. Maybe they'll do two games each team since it's a short season, but I'm not the least bit worried. Heck, if there's no fans allowed at the games then it could be from bed to the TV, sounds kinda awesome to me. I liked it to when I lived in Hawaii. The difference is, I was usually laying on my couch, nodding off on occasion! Not driving for hours and sitting in the stands.

Solution:
all away games at 9 AM or 7 PM
All home games at 1 or 3 PM
Boom.

Ahh, all this argument about game start times is music to my ears.

Aye, in a limited capacity. (hopefully the teams that are lower on the recognition totem pole don't get slotted with a disproportionate amount)
Modern CFB is about big budgets, for coaches, training facilities, recruiting, stadiums and all the rest. That comes from tv not gate. So fans aren't the primary consideration, even after the modified 2020 season. You can't serve two masters, if you want the big $ in the P12, you're going to have to get creative about kickoff times, be they later or earlier. To own the airwaves outside the West, the P12 can't go up against the other Power 5 confs.

How about some 6 AM starts so we can get some early Eastern and Central time zone exposure. Fertile recruiting zones.

10 AM start. Fewer delays for commercials. Have it wrapped up by 1:00.

Have the 9 a.m. kickoffs for home games in Utah, Colorado and Arizona. At least it is 10 a.m. MST at those locations.
Go Beavs!!

10 AM start. Fewer delays for commercials. Have it wrapped up by 1:00. Uh, that would be the worst of both worlds. Commercials is why networks give $. So to start early and get a smaller payday would be bad for fans and the AD.

So to start early and get a smaller payday would be bad for fans and the AD. Perhaps it has been awhile since you've stood in the stands waiting for the damn ubiquitous commercial breaks. Players standing around on the field getting cold. Fans wanting the game to get going. Officials having a cup of coffee. (OK maybe not that last one.)
Plus, why is it incumbent upon the players, the coaches, the fans to modify the game for the network? Based upon the laws of supply and demand, one could think that fewer commercials might mean that each commercial slot becomes more valuable, not less. If the Network can't get their money, they need new ad slot sales people, not more commercials.

Games at 9 am THIS year would be great. I DVR my games anyway so I can skip through the commercials and time it precisely so I get to the end of the game LIVE.
Next year I would not be as happy about home games at 9 am but I could cope with it. Would need to leave the house at 7:30 am.

Having been to a few Wisconsin games that start at 11am local time, I can tell you it would absolutely decimate the student section to play a game that early. Losing your loudest and rowdiest fans (no disrespect to the crew in the lower levels of the West side) would be a real killer to home field advantage.
One a year wouldn't be a deal breaker. More than that would be tough to swallow.

I say have all the games begin at 1, or 4 with one 7 o'clock game per team. Pac 12 can broadcast the game in the area and replay the others.
I like listening to the game anyway. Who needs TV?

A 9:00 AM start is better than no start at all.
