I asked UCSB's baseball ops guy if they had nailed down a stadium to play at, since they had to go to Lake Elsinore last year to host. He replied that they had done nothing yet on this issue. Way to look ahead, dude. Checketts has certainly turned that program around since he took over. Would seem weird to have to go to their house in the post season. The only other team hosting west of the Mississippi is Cal. www.d1baseball.com/analysis/road-omaha-field-64-april-20/SB Nation last week also had us as the #2 seed at the UCSB Regional. Baseball America says Cal is hosting UCSB's Regional, as the #2 seed, and we are going to Texas A&M as a #2 seed.

Way Way too early for this stuff. I guess it gets a conversation going. There is way too many games left that could affect the seeding. It would mean more if it was two weeks before the end of the season.

It's April 22..who gives a crap? I do. But thanks for asking. I think it's encouraging that we are still seen as a #2 seed. Some on this board think the season is over already.

Kendall thinks Beavs will win PAC and host. Comment From Ben Do you guys think Oregon State’s offense is good enough to carry it to at least a super regional? Also, is Thompson their 4th best starter? Seems to me eckert, heimlich, and fehmel might be 1-2-3. Thanks guys!
Kendall Rogers: Ben, I do. I think Oregon State will end up hosting at the end of the season (they will win the Pac-12) and move on to a super regional. And at that point, you never know what might happen? The pitching definitely leaves something to be deserved from a star power standpoint, but Nate Yeskie has a pretty good track record, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see these guys get rolling there, either. Thompson just just needs to get things rolling mentally. I’ve heard his stuff is pretty good, but has lapses in other areas sometimes.

I'll believe it when I see it happen... the pitching concerns me two fold. First, the overall inconsistency of throwing strikes; and, second the lack of getting key outs. We are giving up a lot of big hits, and at times to lowly hitters. Along with that we have not done it against real tough competition... SOS @181 / NC SOS @240 (by far the lowest of the "contenders"). I think 20 or our 26 W's are versus the rpi 101-200, and we've only had 7 games versus rpi top 50 and are 3-4. The other 4 teams I see as threats for the top spot:
Zona has 15 vs. top 50 games and is 9-6 UCLA has 15 vs. top 50 games and is 5-10 UW has 10 vs. top 50 games and is 6-4... 3 are OSU Cal has 9 vs. top 50 games and is 4-5... 3 of those are OSU
Zona at rpi of 31 has played the toughest schedule (SOS @#50 but NC SOS @ #14 / NC rpi is #6) and may have the easiest road out... @usc, OSU, ASU, @oregon. We have our work cut out for us.
