Maybe now, we'll get the fires under control and the smoke out of the air.

I have never seen lightning or heard thunder like that in Corvallis, IN MY LIFE and I have lived here for 30+ years! It was like I was back in Texas or FLorida I am a bit of an idiot (and probably have an extra helping of the toxic masculinity that you decry ) and decided to go on a walk last night at midnight. Lightning all around, immidiate thunder and thunder from multiple directions. The thunder was VERY loud. No rain really until the end of my walk, which I have to admit turned into a jog as the thunder got louder/closer

Started having thunderstorms in Corvallis area around 6:30 pm and they were still going on at 1:30 am, pretty impressive effort even if the heavy rain was isolated - there was one severe storm that tore up some timber and power lines out by Crabtree, but otherwise it was just a nice light show.
