Oh, I'm sorry, he was talking about the Pac 12, not the Pac 1. I'll try to be more clear next time. Btw, he also said this was illustrated by a qb from Cali that not long ago would have gone any where else but USC, but he'll be suiting up for Bama. Roll Tide! There are 5 Pac-12 teams in the top 26 in recruiting rankings as of today according to 247. And yes, we are behind the SEC. We have been for the last 30+ years. Yeah, he was talking about from this point forward, not what has happened this recruiting season. Will they recover from this? Meaning they're the odd man out with the B14 jumping back in.

Losers Pac-12
Someone — or some conference — has to be the target of outrage. That burden now falls to the Pac-12, as the only Power Five conference and one of three leagues overall not in competition. It doesn't really matter that the Pac-12's consistent messaging and the moves to bring rapid testing to every team stands in contrast to the Big Ten's bungled attempts to explain last month's decision. With every other major conference in competition, the Pac-12 is now the outlier in the FBS. SIX TRILLION MILES!!!!!!!!!!How will we ever come back from this? Might as well shut it down.

This am on Colin Cowherd with Joel Klatt. (Paraphrasing) Colin: Can the P12 recover from this? Klatt: No. They were already behind from a competitive and recruiting standpoint, and this will set them back light years. It will be used against them in recruiting for years to come. Light years behind. Not all on Larry Scott. California and Oregon politics play a large part. California? yes. As 4 of the 12 teams are in California, and are located in LA and Bay area that are hard hit by COVID. Their per capita rates in both cities are dangerously high still. It is fair to say this rests in the hands of Newsom. Oregon? is a grossly ignorant statement as we have 2 teams, same as Washington, Arizona... More over our Governor has repeated multiple times she will not allow our schools to be at a competitive disadvantage and would work something out. If the Pac-12 says we are going, we would go. I guarantee it. OSU and Oregon are both in the lighter affected areas of Oregon, Benton County having some of the lowest cases in the state, and Lane county too (somewhat surprisingly given population). Oregon and Oregon State both practiced basically all summer long as well... We only discontinued when the season was suspended. NOT by any governor order or declaration. More over, Washington has held basically the exact same standards as Oregon? Washington is just as blue, if not bluer, than Oregon. Why is Oregon thrown under the bus? Oh, Portland... yeah. that is why. Portland protests are in the national eye, so Oregon politics are in the national eye. It is a spurious argument with no basis in reality about whether or not football will continue. There is not standing policy, nor a governor, standing in the way of OSU or Oregon playing. Only the Pac-12's decision.

I think IF the Pac 12 submitted health and safety plans to the State of California and Oregon it would pretty much be a rubber stamp approval. The Pac 12 has not submitted any such plan, they are dragging their feet because they can't get agreement in their CEO group on how to proceed. The Pac 12 is just scapegoating the State governments to conceal their incompetence at coming up with a safe plan that the CEO's will agree to to resume.

I also just posted the main points of an interview I heard on the radio. I haven't said I agree or disagree. I'm not sure, but here's the thing. Like them or not, Cowherd and Klatt are national media people that have a wide reach. It would be hard to deny that their views today aren't a good look for the P12.

I will also point out, Larry Scott made a similar statement where again he pointed out California and Oregon... which is head scratching and I think it is a total dodge on Scott's part. My conspiracy theory is the fear still remain on potential liability. I ultimately do not blame the Pac-12 for delaying at all. I think ALL of college football should of united and agreed to play a little later this year. But I think what is put up as a player safety front in the documents the Pac-12 provided really has underlying rational in the liability for the player safety. Long story short, I am a cynic and nobody is THAT altruistic.

Spud, you're in construction, have you ever had any submittals approved that you didn't submit? Scott, you dumbass, you can't get approved if you don't submit a plan for approval.

Need to get our leader on board.
The Pac-12 is one of two Power Five conferences, joining the Big Ten, in postponing football until 2021. One conference that continues to plan fall football is the SEC, where Alexander spent seven years as president at LSU.
Asked what the Pac-12 sees that the SEC doesn’t see, Alexander said simply, “I think, probably, reality.”
That is a quote that is most likely to age very poorly.
