Well, the top players and coaches must not care too much about history, because the Pac 12 and Big 10 have won a whopping 2 National Championships in the last 16 years! USC in 2004 and Ohio St in 2014. Not too much there to crow about. The Pac-10 also won the MNC the year before, as well. (Oregon State ended USC's 38-game regular season winning streak in 2006, 33-31.) The Big-12 has won one in that time period (2005 over USC). The ACC has won three, all in the last seven years. For those keeping score at home, MNCs since 2003: SEC 11 ACC 3 Pac-12 2 Big Ten 1 Big 12 1The 2004 National Championship was VACATED by USC (paying players at that time was frowned upon) The 2003 on the field BCS National Champion was LSU, USC won a poll NC that year.

They were not paying players directly.....unlike basketball in Arizona, uo, Lousiville, Memphis, etc...

You and ESPN can slobber all over the SEC, if you would like. You're entitled. The Pac-12 is an above-average conference in that time and lacks the shameful history of overt and systematic racism that several people seem to gloss over.

We're (finally) talking about football. They don't have rankings for proper social behavior.
