2 more knocks tonight. Since he started 0-9 he is hitting around .600 Madrigal started 0-8 in the majors. Since then, he has hit 12-22, a respectable .545. Only one walk, though, and no extra-base hits.

Hits, walks, HBP, catchers interference, fielding error .. . . .it is all about getting on base.
The Suits with the brief cases full of big data and number-crunching computers, like batting average but not nearly as much as they like OBP and SLG.
If you're analytics driven and all 30 major league teams certainly are, OBP is the center of offensive focus.
If Nick hits .400 and no walks, his OBP is .400 and there is nothing wrong with that. He's a hitter and he gets on base - walks are of little concern.

Wisdom from the Wizard ! Indeed, Madrigal is golden - he gets on base ahead of the big bangers,
So, why were/are the White Sox wasting time trying to make him into a home run hitter? Because several other MLB clubs have MIF's that can hit with power?
BTW, Ozzie = best SS in history.
