About two weeks ago the Beavers landed talented Jesuit H.S. infielder Levi Jones. I noted that we needed to add his teammate J. Noble Meyer to the class. Today, we did that. Noble Meyer is a 6'3" 173 pound RHP that resides in West Linn but attends Jesuit High School. He's a sophomore playing summer ball for Pacific Northwest Baseball - Navy and 503 Baseball, and has been electric in some of his pitching appearances on the elite travel circuit in 2020. He had impressive appearances at the 2020 Future Games Showcase and at the MLK West Championship games in Phoenix, AZ.
At 15, he has good length and pitches with a long stride and smooth 3/4 delivery. There is more growth in the tank - he's going to grow bigger. He throws an 87 mph fastball, a 75 mph curve ball and a straight change at 70 mph. Good command of his pitches and locates all three with accuracy. Throwing Bullpens, he likes to experiment with various grips, pressure points and release angles. He is also tinkering with a slider and sinking splitter. A 2023 version Matt Moore who could baffle hitters with a multitude of pitches and speeds.
Meyers 60 time was 7.70 and exit velo was 89 mph. His secondary position is a Corner OF spot but he'll come to Oregon State as a pitcher with promise. He joins RHP Jim DeCremers, RHP Drew Talavs, LHP Paul Miller, with IF's Levi Jones and Zach Blair.

It's never too late to issue a retraction. . . . .right?
Noble Meyer was announced by a national recruiting service as having committed to Oregon State.
That was incorrect and so was I.
He is committed to Oregon. A promising player this summer on the tournament trail.

Sad to see this 'retraction' - a 15 year old getting some horrible advice ( IMO ). The sucks will never commit to supporting their baseball program. I feel good about all of our programs going forward - except men's basketball ! WBB BASEBALL GYMNASTICS WRESTLING FOOTBALL GOLF SOFTBALL ( progressing in a tough Conference )!

I think we first have to ask the question - did we recruit him, and if we did, did we offer? He was receiving some attention from the prep recruiting sites for his performances in summer tournament play, including an impressive outings at the Area Code Underclass Nationals at Lakepoint, Georgia in July. It was reported a week ago, he had committed to Oregon State. Yesterday I looked at the PAC-12 recruiting classes for 2023, and '24 on Rawlings-PG's website and there he is - committed to Oregon. Another site obviously confused us with our little sister school down the road. Has that ever happened before?
We have to correct our '23 commit list from 7 to 6. RHP Drew Talavs RHP James DeCremers LHP Paul Miller SS/RHP Trent Carraway IF Levi Jones IF Zach Blair
