Biased as in they are being influenced by the football staff to have that opinion? That is a serious accusation that you are making. I will lean towards they are using sound medical practices and making sound medical advise.
One of our local Sports talk radio guys has a son that has some serious medical issues. He was born with a hole in his heart. He talked about him and his wife consulting with their sons doctor about how to handle the current situation with school. The doctors (Out of Houston) said they have to move on with life and it is safe to send their son to school. Are you going to allege that these doctors are biased as well?

is it possible that the LSU athletics medical staff might have a biased opinion here? . Hey Glove .....it pretty obvious that you are somewhat biased in your stance as well ....it’s an interesting take that really focused on this one subject but we gloss over the other aspects as if we just accept them at face value Huh? What bias do I have in regards to LSU playing football or not? My question was to the LSU poster who made the claim that the LSU athletics medical staff has no problem with Fall sports. I think they might have a vested interest in sports happening this Fall. I simply asked civiltiger if they could see that or not.

Quite a leap you make there. From question to accusation/allegations. The anecdotal sports radio story is spurious at best. Who has ever known a sports radio blowhard to spin? ASDs and VSDs are actually fairly common at birth and can heal themselves after birth. My Dad has had a long stint as an endurance athlete (triathlete, marathons) with a hole is his heart.

My dislike for him isn’t based on the rumor that he wanted to be a part of Clinton’s cabinet. It is based on his handling of situations while he was at LSU. Alexander was asked what the Pac-12 sees that the SEC doesn’t see in regards to cancelling fall sports. Alexander’s reply was “I think, probably reality”. That is the condescending attitude that didn’t play well here at all. Also that comment can age really poorly. So far the LSU athletics medical staff doesn’t see any issues with playing sports this fall. The heart condition is something that they have known about for a while and if it’s caught early it’s easily treatable. Now I love the guy! Thanks for this!!

Yes, biased as in they are being influenced by staff to state an opinion that is contrary to what other doctors say. If you want to water it down, then they are simply trying to make the best of a terrible situation. Given that the South has been prime coronavirus territory, it certainly doesn’t make logical sense. You know, there’s an awful lot of talk even on this board about how the Pac 12 and the Big 10 screwed up. But the thing is, the SEC and all the others have yet to play a single game. And their schedules have been moved back so that they still have time to opt out. Which is what will happen. In the end. Unless Russia comes through with that cure! C’mon Putin!

He’s a public educator and bureaucrat. So hopefully he is better than most, which isn’t saying much. Let’s just hope he doesn’t send out his lieutenants to confiscate conservative newspapers on campus like his predecessor did in 2008.

I didn’t mean to mistake you post. If you were simply asking a question I’m sorry for the mischaracterization. However I saw one of your fellow Beaver fans has went ahead with the accusation that the doctors are being influenced by the athletic staff. That is a fairly serious accusation that I would never throw around. Especially if I lived pretty much halfway across the country from the region.

I would also like to read the firsthand reports from SEC doctors who think playing football during the pandemic is safe. linkThat link had no reference to any Doctor saying that playing football was safe. The quotes were from an athletic trainer and your team has already had a huge outbreak. That link pretty much confirms why you shouldn’t play.
