The financial part distributed is a joke. So much of this is unrealistic. I'm fine with the safety part which is the only part I agree with. The excessive spending is for the athletes...to their benefit. Very clueless imo...

OSU is expecting an 8 million buck shortfall in the athletic department this year. Perhaps the athletes should be paying it?

I would have loved to have been "exploited" with a scholarship when I attended OSU. Would have shut up, worked my ass off and been grateful to NOT accrue $27,000 in debt (in the mid 90's) for my two degrees!

Funny thing in all of this is that it is the fans that actually pay the bills. It is getting easier each year to walk away from it all, I am almost to that point. Let's just say 20% to 30% of the fans walk away from it all. Is that an unrealistic number of fans walking away and what would happen?

This statement is really stupid (IMHO) Because unjust rules prevent the 98% of college football and basketball players who won’t go pro from capitalizing economically on what would otherwise be the most valuable years of our lives, including many Black players from low-income homes, #WeAreUnited. Assumption is that the 'valuable' is financial....Come on man. Get a degree and get a career in your degree's area, work hard, get promoted, earn good money to support yourself and your family. Your college years are NOT the most valuable years of your life (financially). What do you expect to get millions to play college sports? I think you lost most of them with work hard.

Prediction: Coach Smith stands by his players through all of this.

These guys get professional training, world class nutrition and workout support, and out of state tuition at some of these institutions pushes 60k a year. Someone paying $30k a year out of pocket for their tuition is doing so with money they've already paid taxes on. These student athlete are already getting $100k a year in benefits in certain situations. f%#* em.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out, doubtful they get any actual revenue sharing and they are shooting themselves in the foot if they sit out and don't get drafted (nor invited to a nfl camp)...
