Losing the series to Wazzu will really hurt both our ranking, and RPI. Ugh.
And who the heck is going to pitch on Monday?

Waiting for the "we're okay, don't panic" guys to weigh in on this NOT being a big deal. Team is heading off the rails if not turned around immediately, and I don't see that happening. A national seed is now impossible, hosting is now impossible, making the playoffs really questionable at this point. Of course some are going to disagree and voice negative nelly posts of some kind, blah, blah..... If you see a scenario where we are some how relevant at this point let us all in on it, because right now we are at the bottom, or nearing it. It saddens me to see this team become fodder for the wazzu's of the land, what's next, will the ucks pound us too if we can't put up some fight?? Yes, right now we stink, you can't sugar coat this team anymore!!!

However, a 10-game winning streak somewhere down the stretch could put Oregon State back into the conversation. Typically, the Pac-12 champion hosts. I cannot think of a time that that did not occur. The Big West and Pac-12 typically fight to make sure that there are three Western hosts. Right now, the Big West looks like it has two one-seeds and California is the third. Having said that UCSB cannot host, so the committee might make Oregon State a host as a two-seed. Also, the Beavers are only two games out of the conference lead. A sweep in Salt Lake, and Oregon State is right back into hosting discussion. The conference season is not even half over yet. If the Beavers are .500 in conference in May, we can start talking about what is wrong, but the season is still young. |
