PAC-12 schools are moving slowly on the transfers with only 8 reported to date. Cal State-Fullerton on the other hand is "loading up", and the JuCo's are feasting like never before on some of the younger portal occupants. Programs not included in the Power-5 conferences are also benefiting nicely.
Brian Green the new HC at Washington State has added 3 known transfers from his previous program at New Mexico State in Las Cruces., the best being Tristen Peterson. Green's 2020 recruiting class was ranked 36th nationally by Perfect Game as he stocks up in an attempt to change the culture and improve the talent level in the Palouse.
Arizona State added Auburn slugger, Conor Davis and OSU lefty, Kai Murphy. Davis is a big fish. Utah landed Jaylin McLaughlin fron Nevada-Reno, and Brayson Hurdsman from Houston oregon added Caleb Sloan from TCU
It looks like the pool is shrinking as teams are picking up speed in signing players and many players seem to be withdrawing and moving on. For now, it looks like the Beavs are content to play the hand they have. We'll see.

Not sure who Coach Canham and Co really could make room for, and as much as the community colleges are feasting, they might be overeating because I really anticipate that a lot of those programs might be headed for extinction - not unless a whole lot of the economy comes back from the brink really fast.

That little school down south in Lane County has been fortifying their roster with two new RH additions to their pitching staff, compliments of the "Transfer Portal".
1. They picked up a casualty from the Boise State collapse with the addition of Brayden Spears from Brentwood,CA.- Liberty HS. Spears is 6'6, 199 and throws his fastball in the 85-87 range with a 3 pitch mix. At Liberty he posted a 2.91 ERA as a Junior and 1.49 as a Senior. At BSU he redshirted in 2019, the Year the Broncos were putting the program together, then appeared in 4 games during Boise State's 9-5 start to the 2020 season. He recorded a 1-0 record and 2.53 ERA in 10 2/3 IP. He has 4 years to play 4.
2. Their second pick-up is intriguing. Caleb Sloan is 6'3" 215 and hails from Centennial, CO - Regis Jesuit HS (Same program as our 2022 commit, Dallas Macias)and and then on to Texas Christian University. At Regis in 2017, Sloan was the #1 ranked prospect in Colorado and ranked the #171 2017 MLB Draft prospect by BA. Two time All State selection that had reached the 94-95 mph velo level. Perfect Game ranked him #42 nationally. At TCU, he pitched in the 2018 season logging 31 1/3 innings out of the bullpen and put up a 3-0 mark with a 4.60 ERA and 27K's-15 BB. In 2019, he suffered a "serious injury" at the end of spring practice in early February and did not pitch that year. In 2020, he was not listed as a Roster player and did not pitch. His time-line is very similar to Kevin Abel. A good guess on the injury? Tommy John.
Spears is a known quantity. Sloan's pitching is not. TCU released him and maybe uo is assuming the risk. If he's healthy and his "injury" has healed well, he can pitch and will give uo a potential starter to go with Yovan.
