OH NOES!!! NOT OAN!!!
A whole lot of phony outrage over absolutely nothing.
I mean...the vast, vast majority of racists fall in that political spectrum. And fat people. And stupid people. And hypocrites. Etc, etc.

Woke Outrage Cancel Culture is a plague on the nation. But it's amusing to me that the folks most enamored of the term "snowflake" are so often the most hypersensitive to criticism - and they play the victim so instinctively and enthusiastically. Very amusing indeed.

Imagine a sports network having bad ratings with no live sports to cover.

It's your first amendment right to share this guys link... but not to suffer the consequences from others on a message board. Pick someone a little more intelligent next time. It'll help you look better.

Your opinion of what constitutes "a little more intelligent" is likely something that's anything but. Thanks Buttercup, I'll put on my big boy pants and do better

Very amusing indeed. They also fervently believe that all media is all owned an operated "by the liberals" yet don't realize Fox News is the most watched cable network news channel and Sinclair Media owns 193 stations covering a 40% market share of America... It only trails the largest operator, Nextstar, by 4 stations, yet earns nearly twice the annual revenue. play the victim indeed...

The number of local news stations owned by Sinclair Media is completely irrelevant to the point you think you are cleverly making, snowflake. Oh, I had a good chuckle at this.

Regardless of the media that you consume, you are the victim. The media has devolved into entertainment, echo chamber porn for the weak-minded. Allowing your decisions to be made by your betters (in academia, media, science, etc.), allowing them to cow you into what to do or what to think is the sign of a devolving democratic society. Use your knowledge, intuition, and common sense to come to your own conclusions and to make your own decisions. Think for yourself. Speak for yourself. Act for yourself. (The final paragraph is not directed at anyone specifically, just my opinion. Use it or ignore it to your heart's content.)

I was specifically talking about station operators of network television for a reason, but not a reason I have an desire to pursue any longer. Suffice to say, the above is important, not trying to downplay it at all, but it isn't the only thing at play. Local affiliates are a significant player in our landscape and discourse. (I do realize I lumped in Fox News, in my first post, but I was really trying to highlight the affiliates).

Lol Sinclair dictates programming and op-Eds to the local affiliates. Significant impact? Not sure.

It is the nature of capitalism. Get more money and buy your competitors out until you are king of the hill. Yes, it is wise to consume your food and your news mindfully. Be aware of sensationalism and the like. The easiest answer to this is NPR and PBS which are anything but sensational news services. Plus, you have a ton of international choices as well. But when “thinking for yourself” involves ignoring experts, you have to start to wonder who is really just fooling themselves.
