I just hope this has legs to morph into a full blown discussion about Luke Heimlich. Can never have too many of those! I'm still waiting for the posts from Rocco's friends and teammates (who actually know him) speaking in defense of his character. They must be out there somewhere. I say this not sarcastically. (to address the original subject).

The post wasnt worded well but the point is valid. A 15 year old kid makes moronic comments and is let go relative to Luke's treatment or the adults accused of rape during the late 90s football program's. There is a lot of hypocrisy here by the social justice warriors but of course any counter points wont be tolerated in today's environment and you will be called a racist. Smith had little choice givin the timing but I would be very interested to see if everyones past moronic behavior as a white kid is being thoroughly investigated and by who and if the same standard is being applied to all kids on the program regardless of race. Apples and Oranges. Apparently this kid, per the tweets from other classmates in HS, plus the reaction of his current teammates, has a pattern of this kind of behavior. LH? A never proven accusation, a plea deal, court ordered counseling and follow up/ accountability, and no other related incidents before or after that we know about. Teammate support, coach support, and just a few months from having his record expunged. No comparison whatsoever. And it really pisses me off that a few on here believe that if Pat Casey wasn't 100% sure he was a stand up guy, doing everything he needed to do to rehab his reputation - he still would have kept him as a player, because of his athletic ability as a starter. Shame on you for talking out of your ass, you do not know that. Too bad you have so little faith in the character and integrity of one of the best coaches OSU has ever had. Typical hypocrisy I was referring too. I completely supported Casey keeping Luke on the team. You are a prime example of the people I’m am referring too that can’t have a conversation about inconsistent discipline regarding someone who was plead guilty too a crime as a minor and a kid that said something moronic on social media. Check your moral compass

Check your moral compass Maybe I am missing something, but I fail to see the hypocrisy. As I understand it, LH had the support of Pat Casey and his teammates, he plead out a deal rather than drag his family through the mud at his parents' request, no hard evidence besides "he said, she said" and had no other prior history - or after.
From what I have heard, which could be wrong, this kid has a pattern of being an arrogant jackwagon, and possibly a racist. Does not have the support of his teammates. I fail to see the comparison. If your point is, all 15 year old kids should be given a second chance, or not be crucified for being a kid and stupid sometimes, I wholeheartedly agree (depending on the severity of the offense). But, right or wrong, we seem to be at a point where we are incapable of granting anyone grace, and waiting until all of the facts come out - we want instant justice. These kids and others are tried and convicted in the court of public opinion, long before a real trial, sometimes without all of the evidence being considered.

Took the words out of my mouth. The accusation against LH (which as of his record no longer exists, and IMO am shocked that people still think he is guilty of it if they have done their research) is a topic I and so many others have grown weary of talking about. I also fail to see what it has to do with Carley, OSU football, or this thread in general.

And no innocent person has EVER plead guilty when offered minimal punishment with a plea deal. Everybody knows that. Yeah right.

And this is minor factor (maybe around 1%) of why people have been in the streets the last two weeks.

LH plead guilty. That means he agreed with the accusation. Enough said. No, it actually meant no such thing.
Nor was it his own personal choice.
I didn’t say it wasn’t his parents telling him to do it, but you plead guilty, you’re guilty, that’s the way the system works.

His guilty plea has nothing to do with the current protests.

I didn’t say it wasn’t his parents telling him to do it, but you plead guilty, you’re guilty, that’s the way the system works. Being compelled to "agree" (as a legally-mandated condition) is different than "agreeing with the accusation."
You lose. Again.
Dude, once again you're punching above your weight class. He pleaded to a lesser chart. He's on the books as guilty. He has a criminal record. Period. End discussion. You want to debate this, come back when you've passed the Bar Exam.
