Another example of a WT recruit who wasn't able to play at the Power 5 level. Antoine Vernon was supposed to be the third-best player in Canada coming out of high school. First and second were Ignas Brazdeikis (pick #47 last year) and Luguentz Dort. He is now going back to Canada. It could be that he is just homesick. Good luck to him. It could also be that Canada doesn't produce very good basketball players.

I don’t know what he was “supposed to be,” but it didn’t take more than a few minutes of watching him to know he wasn’t in that ballpark — and his offers and when he signed confirm that. But I wish him luck with his move.

I wouldn't call it a hotbed of talent, but I sure wouldn't mind the next Steve Nash. And tsdtr did pretty good recently with Boucher and Brooks. Rueck also did quite well with Ruth Hamblin. OSU isn't in a position to not get creative with intl options.

It could also be that Canada doesn't produce very good basketball players. I wouldn't call it a hotbed of talent, but I sure wouldn't mind the next Steve Nash. And tsdtr did pretty good recently with Boucher and Brooks. Rueck also did quite well with Ruth Hamblin. OSU isn't in a position to not get creative with intl options. There’s only about 10-12 of them in the NBA. Yeah, they suck
