Are you trying to jinx them? Final: OSU 6 Central Arky 2 of course not..#6 team in the polls should have had this in the bag by the 4th inning... Really? How so?

How so, what? How so they aren't a top 10 team? Or how so they should have had it in the bag by the 4th inning? I guess the answer is similar...if not the same...overall way too many errors, lack of consistent pitching and in this game it should have been a blow out from early on. Don't get me wrong...I love the Beavs, just think we are ranked way too high for our current quality of play... Are you baseball1111's twin?

Yes, it's a non-conference game, but we had a Freshman pitcher start who was not supposed to start. Top rated teams often lose games such as this, as they see them as an opportunity to get younger guys some playing time. Fehmel did damned good in my opinion, reminds me a bit of a freshman by the name of Boyd. I think we deserve to be in the top 15, maybe top 10. Don't cancel those Omaha reservations just yet.

Whew! Came to check the score, and from the headline I thought we had lost! So I'm happy.

Top 10 changes every year. It's not something that has a standard measurement attached to it. It depends on how good the teams are that are in the top 10 from year to year. Are we going to finish as a top 10 team this year? Who knows, but if you look around, after the 12 or 13 range, there are quite a few very average teams. Would you really say for certain that TCU, FSU and South Carolina would beat us 7 out of 10 times in a 3 game series? I don't think they would. Losing Drew has really hurt, and I don't think this team is a top 5 team, but I think it can sit right around 10 for the rest of the year and be happy. Same with Cal. Being the #1 team in the country didn't do us any favors a couple years ago. Get to the post season, fight towards Omaha. I've always thought that if you get to a Super Regional, you had a successful season.
Depending on who stays after this season (Morrison, Knobach or Ice) this team will be very good next year. If all 3 leave, then I predict we will be about the same as this year, which isn't all that bad.

I know I really don't need to say this, but baseball is one of those weird sports where a really bad team can beat a really good team. It just happens. It's nearly impossible to get through the season without a few questionable losses even for the top teams. That doesn't mean the current Beavers are definitely one of the top 10 teams in the country but the current overall record and obvious talent on the roster suggests they are at least up there.
There's plenty of hope for a successful season going forward. It also shouldn't be considered a horrible failure if these Beavers don't make it to Omaha. Of course, I know that is always the goal for this program and it's still not out of the picture. Our expectations for Beaver baseball are very high, and with good reason.

1-1 after two games vs the cellar dwelling cougs.. Game 1 looked like a blow out by the score, but was actually much closer than the score indicated...second game we lost...and gave up a grand slam...work to be done fellas. No excuses for this, WSU is plain BAD...
With this pitching staff and penchant for errors this is not a team going on any long win steak. I said it early and got blasted... as bad of pitching staff as I can remember in over 10 years. A combo of talent not maturing, injuries, and youth; but this is not a very good team in terms of what OSU expects. Maybe a 18-12 to 15-15 team in league... maybe stick in top 25 with reputation... 3 seed?
All the hype of a few recruits... but, without pitching all is for not. Did not expect any game in this series to be close... 4-5+ run wins.

Anything less than a perfect game won by 1000 runs and this team is terrible ... horrendous ... overrated ... a disappointment. People, they're 23-8! Get a grip!!

It's not the 23-8 that is, or could be, the issue, it's the distinct possibility that .500 in conference doesn't impress many folks, least of all, seeding folks! It's a fairly young team that needs to step up a notch to be in the mix at seasons end, pitching obviously IS an issue, whether injuries or not they need to get better, timely and consistent hitting, meh, maybe yes, maybe no, fielding, too many errors to make PC happy, that I would bet on. Sky falling, not yet, but there needs to be some overall improvement, I'm pretty sure PC agrees, don't ya think?

Actually they're 6-6 where it counts and 17-2 versus a very weak OOC schedule. Losing a series to a very very weak WSU team is totally unexpected and has atmosphere closing fast.

You boys are too quick to jump ship. I'd hate to see yall's marriages. An 18-0 run in conference can solve all worries. So can 14-4. The last two seasons, this team has cruised --- right up to the CWS when they went cold. I'd rather have them stink now and get that second wind, taking them into the CWS finals. Go Beavs!!

Really? I know it's legal now, but put the pipe down, unless something really turns around, starting NOW, there is zero chance of CWS! Reality sucks a big one, and right now the Beavs are frankly NOT GOOD!! Wazzu is horrible and getting toasted there will stain this team all year, now they are doubters, and it's not good to be a doubter. They have one day to turn it around, get down at PK tomorrow and Houston, we have a very real problem.

I said nothing about them going to the CWS with how they are playing currently. READ my post, then respond.
