Looks like tinkle is going after size,
athleticism and strength / bull. Shortcomings last year except ( (IMO), Tinkle and Thompson.
May be a pleasant surprise ( if we play ).

Alatishe,Johnson,Silver,and Andela are athletic long kids who comprise a very solid Pac-12 level recruiting class. I really like the athletes coach Tinkle and staff have added. With a potentially solid class last year of Lucas,Hunt,Miller-Moore,Franklin(rs)Tucker,and Silva,the last two years have been an upgrade imo.

Wow you guys drink the Tinkle koolaid. These are not good Pac 12 recruiting classes they are very poor. Both years. While Stanford is getting the number 7 kid in country and ASU is getting the number 10 kid this week we are excited to get low level JC guys. We have to expect more out of our coaching staff than this. This board is bummed if Rueck gets below a 5 star but happy getting very low 3 star for Tinkle. Stars matter and everyone who is a Beaver women's fan knows that. Mens fan say they don't matter because we suck at recruiting. But look who is at the top of the league? The teams with the high star rankings. Time to quit making excuses for Tinkle and tell Barnes to take a 50% pay cut instead of 15% to pay for Tinkles extension

Ive watched the film on all of these kids and all four have solid potential. Comparing apples to oranges MBB vs. Wbb. I'm not expecting MBB to be a top 10 program like Wbb has become. I just want one that competes for a tournament birth on a regular basis in MBB. Just saying...MBB recruiting is a dirty business,being a person who has followed hoops recruiting since 1975. Don't think coach Tinkle wants to go down that road like many do... |

We have to start somewhere and this 'type of talent - big stars or not , seems to be headed in the right direction .
We are thickening out our rotation and have some great upside versus where we were with only coaches kids and zero bench !

So everyone cheats but Tinkle!! Nice. You should get a job with Rivals or 24/7 because you have unique recruiting eye that none of them see. These classes will not finish higher than 9th. Some of that is talent and the other bottom feeders Cal and WSU have hired much better head coaches than we have. We have to quit looking through orange colored glasses and ask for more in both recruiting and coaching

Coaching at Montana in the Big sky and coaching at OSU in the PAC-12 are slightly different IMHO. Look at the rosters around the Big Sky. |

Man, you must eat some s%#tty cereal to think what Tinkle has done is acceptable. Three JC 2* signees, with stats vs far far inferior competition. Two having zero other scholly offers when signed by Tinkle. Hundreds of higher rated players throughout the portal and this is what he can bring in? So, OSU has what two players over 6'8", if one/both are staying? Both EXTREMELY limited on both ends. 9th or 10 rated recruiting class... again. Looks like fighting for the 8th or 9th spot in the Pac12 is your (several others) brand of cereal. Do I think what Wayne has done is acceptable? No. Do I think Wayne can coach? I do. What I see is a nice class with much more athleticism and length. Johnson is an elite athlete who will help on the front line. Andela is a power forward who should add toughness at PF. Silver is a three point specialist who should be a solid defender. Alatisha is a solid scorer who can help on the boards. It's up to Wayne to put together a solid line-up. Have I seen great basketball at osu? I started watching osu in 1975 with Rocky Smith,Paul Miller,Lonnie Shelton,etc and have seen lots of regular season success under Ralph,Jimmy,Lanny,Steve Seidler,Dave Leach,etc throughout the Orange Express years until Gary Payton 1 left. Do I love Wayne Tinkle? No. Do I think it is really difficult to blend a team together when you have to coach your son and an assistant coaches son? Absolutely. Can Wayne elevate the program? Idk. But the thread started with an attempt to point out the good things with the players we have, and we have a couple debbie downers jumping in here pissing and moaning. a couple debbie downers with barely any posts under their belts no less... But right now, the players are committed, everybody is stuck at home, the world sucks and I don't think adding more negativity is really great right now. Is Tinkle's classes ranking well? of course not. But Jesus man, lets not doom it to complete failure before people even step on the court. It is what it is, instead of pissing and moaning about how we have the scraps, we can at least look at what is good in what we have. In reading a few of your posts it seems the quite the opposite holds true in the number of posts made. A thread speaking of the positives (or shortcomings) of players signed and the program as run by Wayne a pretty natural progression. Try getting over yourself and the need to direct when, where, and what is posted. But, I'll limit my posts from now on. And, to those worth responding to.
