This season has been somewhat of a disappointment for many here, but it could finish on a high note and a NIT tournament is still in the possibility....
Go Beavs!
Who thinks we make it to a post season tournament?
I wanna say yes.

Who thinks we make it to a post season tournament? I wanna say yes. The big dance is still a possibility too. The NIT... - only a great showing in this second tier tournament would make me feel good about the season. - WT is coming back so might as well end up the season on a high note. - if losing out guaranteed a new coach, I’d rather that be the scenario

Jekyll and Hyde play won't get osu the consistency that is needed to build and sustain a struggling program. The missing ingredients are 1) recruiting, 2) an identity in both offensive and defensive schemes, that can be the basis for individual game plans, and 3) team energy Can WT drive this bus ? I am not sure !

I am not sure ! You can knock him for recruiting and retention of recruits, but I don't get the volume of comments on offensive and defensive schemes. We run a lot of good offensive sets and we have a lot of them. The defensive schemes are also similar to a lot of other teams. The issues come down to the athletes that we have and their execution. The all goes back to recruiting and keeping the guys that you have. There could also be a knock on player development with WT, but part of that also goes back to recruiting and picking up guys that have a lot of growth potential in their games.

I think they have to beat Cal to get NIT, unless they have a ridiculous run in Pac 12 tourney. And if it is a really ridiculous run, they'd be going to NCAA tourney, but not holding my breathe on that one. I think it might come down to how the Pac 12 bubble teams do as to whether Beavs get invited to NIT. I think if two out of UCLA, ASU and Stanford fail to get invite to NCAA, NIT could just take those two and look at OSU's bad conference record as a reason not to invite the Beavs. Hope that's not the case and they get in, but just have to wait and see.

This quote from Craig Robinson popped up in my Facebook memories from six years ago today in a Barometer article that's no longer online:
With that as the baseline, I'd say the fact that last night's game guaranteed us a better than .500 record and I don't think anyone is in danger of not graduating is evidence that the program has advanced since Craig was here.

WT > CR Are you happy? One mediocre thing is slightly better than another mediocre thing. It's losers mentality. It's like saying the Honda Civic > Toyota Camry. Both are mediocre modes of transportation, but neither are winning any performance competitions. Or Kragthorpe > Avezzano. Yay!

At OSU, that shouldn't get you fired*, in any sport. That's my opinion. *by fired, I mean before your contract is up. If they chose to let his contract expire and move on, I'm fine with that.

Since Slats Gill left, the only coaches to go 6 years with only 1 losing season at OSU are Miller and Tinkle.

Here's a fun stat....if Wayne comes back next season, he will be the third longest tenured coach in OSU history. Slats and Ralph are the only coaches to coach more than six seasons in the 120 year history of the school.
