Some more interesting stats:
Defensive Rating, which is an estimate of points allowed per 100 possessions while the player is on the floor shows Tres as a better defender than Kylor (98.7 vs. 100.6). Tres has improved his defensive rating number in each of the past three seasons.
GPII has the lowest Defensive Rating of the Wayne Tinkle era, posting a ridiculous 86.2 in 2014-15. That year was an exceptional defensive year however, as 8 players posted a rating below 100, the only time more than two players on any team in the WT era were below 100.
Eric Moreland posted a 93.3 in 2011-12 and a 94.2 in 2012-13. His 2013-14 senior campaign was a more modest 101.7, still a full 5.2 points better than the next closest regular rotation guy on the team. As a team that year we ranked 305th in the country in points allowed per game.
Seth Tarver posted a 95.0 in his senior season, the first season sports-reference has Drtg available as a stat.

He was also awful on the glass vs ASU and a big reason we didn’t pull that one out (4 pts 3 boards in 33 minutes lol) Oregon State's rebound percentage was 48.9% against Arizona State, which is better than most games in conference. If you were going to point to game, where poor rebounding really nipped Oregon State in the bud, it would probably be the California game, 46.4%. So everyone else but KK rebounded well perhaps. But you know the point was that he just didn’t produce that particular game unfortunately

Since we've gotten into a discussion about defense...I actually thought that Thompson played some really good D on Pritchard quite a few times. Thompson didn't bite on a lot of Pritchard's moves and kept himself between Pritchard and the basket. There were many times if Thompson had just taken half a step closer to Pritchard, Pritchard would've blown by him, but Thompson didn't take that step. It was good D a lot of the time.
Thompson is our best player, period. Tres this year looks like he and his Dad have decided that the best way to get to the post-season, which they both desperately want (and who can blame them?), is for Tres to score as much as possible. A good chunk of his shots this year have been a diving, off-balance, can't-see-the-rest-of- the-floor-because-I-am-driving-no-matter-what flail fest. It's looks bad.

Ethan is a matchup problem for Pritchard. His long, athletic frame is difficult for Pritchard to deal with and it has shown in all four games this year and last. Also agree that ET has been our best player, especially of late. I feel for the kid and what he may have to deal with next year. Wouldn't surprise me at all for him to try and find another opportunity elsewhere, whether that's pro ball or a different program elsewhere.

Tres is a good kid, has put up good stats and is a very hard worker. The last 5 years have been all about Tres not his fault but his dads. He cant jump hes very inconsistent from deep and hes easy to defend because he always goes left to the basket if hes not throwing up a low percenter 3 pointer (at least for him). He does some good work inside fighting for the ball but consistently gets stuffed by kids that are more athletic Wayne constantly leaves him in if we are way up which doesn't happen often as well as when the game is over hurting Tres as well as the opportunity for other kids to develop. . Tres looks tired half of the time but Wayne wants to ensure he gets his stats which will not matter at the next level. I wish him the best but I've had enough of daddy making his kid the top priority. It has hurt our recruiting as well as our ability to retain decent players. Wayne still hasn't shown the ability to actually run a coherent offense athough at times he has made good adjustments on D. I think the main issue there is hes not focused on getting anyone else in the team involved, that's not his priority it will obviously have to be when the boys leave. Its going to get worse especially over the remainder of his contract .

Without Kelley behind him, Pritchard would destroy Thompson. Pritchard lived in the key the in Corvallis but couldn’t capitalize because Kelley was always lurking without any bigs for Oregon able to keep him honest

A marginal improvement in rebounding by KK in the Arizona State game would not have moved the needle in that game. He may have come away with more rebounds, but they would probably have been at the expense of the stats racked up by other Beavers, rather than Devils.

ET is good at recovering and covering space, but, the majority of the time, he is too slow to guard Pritchard off the dribble.

He needs to watch Bill Russel Rebound. We have a center coordinated and can jump. He just is not developed into a good player. 15-18 points a game,10 to 12 boards. He blocks but cannot really shoot. A good reason we are so poor in offense. Coaches favs are another reason.

A good reason we are so poor in offense. Coaches favs are another reason. Oregon State is third in the conference in offense according to Ken Pomeroy behind Oregon and Arizona. The fact that portions of our fanbase are fixated on offense and how to turn a near-great to a great offense are just plain weird. Oregon State's problems are on the other side of the ball, stopping opponents from scoring, especially from the outside.

Walton was listed at 6'11" and 210 lbs. I'm guessing as a senior at UCLA he was 7'1" and 210. In the old videos he is racing up and down the court. KK runs like a young and healthy Walton. Even though Walton was skinny he averaged 15.7 rebounds over 87 games at UCLA. There were no blocked shots stats at that time. Stats from the 76-77 and 77-78 years in Portland show 14.4 rebounds and 3.2 blocks and then 13.2/2.5. It is obviously possible to excel at both while being rail-thin. Maybe in retrospect, we should have asked Payton Dastrop to be his Maurice Lucas or whoever pushed people back when they pushed Walton at UCLA (Nater?). Walton said his older brother Bruce did that for him in high school. Bruce was an offensive lineman at UCLA and I think for a few years in the NFL.

How did he grow 2 inches in college and then shrink 2 inches when he entered the NBA? Does weed make you shrink? KK is still very raw when it comes to BB. Walton was polished when he got to UCLA. Rebounding takes some instincts and KK is not there yet.

And yes, KK is a long ways from the skill level of a young BW.

Not saying that BW hasn’t shrunk some in his old age, but KK is definitely taller. Just wish KK would have had 4 years of Pac-12 experience instead of 2. Some pounds and some polish and I still think he could make an NBA roster. If Eubanks can, I think KK can get there
