While watching the Colorado game on Saturday, was struck while seeing that Tres be so effective rebounding and getting steals, but so inefficient at the offensive end of the court. Not sure if this due to him trying to do too much, not having any reliable scorers around him, or maybe injuries or exhaustion. In PAC 12 play he is just hitting 36% of his shots, (67 of 185) and only 23% of his three pointers (14 of 61). Tres has been outstanding his OSU career, but was hoping that he would really excel in his senior season. This maybe just a factor of opponents keying on him, but he seem to be passing up easier shots to drive into double or triple teams. Crossing my fingers that over the last few games, and into the PAC 12 Tournament, he can find his Mojo again.

I think he has a significant ankle injury problem that is affecting him dramatically and will only get better by him resting it for several games which would mean no chance at all for the Beavers to be in any postseason games.

What ankle? When? I've watched every game either in person or on TV. I've never seen him hurt, leave a game with even a tweak, be looked at on the bench, not heard a word from WT or the media of any ankle issue, or even slightly favor an injury let alone an ankle. Source?

Crossing my fingers that over the last few games, and into the PAC 12 Tournament, he can find his Mojo again. His finishing at the rim has just been so un-Treslike in Pac-12 play it seems. Against Colorado and Utah in particular I remember him making good moves to the basket to get looks and he just has not finished them with consistency. In non-conference play I thought he looked as good as he ever had yet it just went the complete opposite way in conference play. Maybe some of it is opponents keying on him and playing against him for as long as they have, but seems like part of it is just a bad slump in his shooting and finishing more than anything. Some of you may argue that he's forcing shots more often this year which is leading to his poor % but I think it's more than that and don't really think he's forcing anything more often than years past (because he's ALWAYS forced shots). It's strange for sure and is definitely a big reason why we're 5-8 right now.

One... is he seems to be in flop mode. Calls or not, he seems to flop away from any contact near the rim hoping for a call. Instead of planting and finishing to the rim he's consistently falling away. Just seems he more and shies away from contact, hence not finishing nor getting more calls. I don't think I've ever seen Tres throw up more finesse type crap... I mean no chance to go in, than he has the last few games. That's never really been a weakness until maybe 5,6,7 games ago??
Two... and unrelated... quit looking over to your dad every time you don't get a call. His consistent bitching is prob some of why you don't!

I don't think he ever recovered from his ankle injury from years ago Wait... so the stats are fine, great last year, talked of being a POY candidate this season... but not fully recovered from ankle "years ago"? Really? So, when was this, must have been pretty serious, ankle to still be effecting him? Foot at the end of his frosh year. Wrist cost him sophomore year. Ankle??

Source? I remember the TV announcers for the Utah game mentioned that he had hurt it during the Civil War game and that he had not practiced all week. Going from memory so take that for what it is worth.

Thx Which explains maybe Utah and Buff games... but none before that were pretty similar as his shooting woes have been all Pac12 really.

Tres still has moves that gets him to the rim ... sometimes it seems like he throws up a good shot that bounces out. But I have seen more than a few times it looks like he is falling away from contact. He is a big kid that should take the contact and finish through it. Seems he used to finish strong more often. I cannot explain the shooting percentage from 3. He has a nice stroke and made a higher percentage in the past.

Sometimes its never the same. Which is it ankle or foot? His ankle has never broken. His foot hasn't bothered him for two + seasons and no mention. You tossed out ankle... and said it's been bothering him for some time when it the entire Pac12 season stats were mentioned. It hasn't... now it's the foot? And... yes, done both. All good. So is Tres's foot.

Only mention I've heard of anything, though I wasn't able to watch the Colorado game so not sure if mentioned at all during that broadcast.
