Is the Pac12 good or crap? Lol Seriously... supposedly we're the 4th rated in RPI and NET, but how many teams will have NCAA worthy records? Pac12 champ what... a 4 seed? 5? Some sites still have 6 Pac12 teams dancing. Just don't see it! Could see 4 and 4 in NIT?? It'll be an interesting finish. I think the Pac-12 does actually have some pretty good teams, just no elite team which probably leads to the perspective that it isn't a strong conference. uo, UA, CU are for sure in the tournament, and currently Stanford, USC, and ASU are fighting for 1-3 spots. To be considered we're going to need to get above two of them somehow, which probably means wins against CU, ASU, and then both bay schools at a minimum, as well as at least 2 Pac-12 tourney wins. That would put us at 21-12 (9-9), and in my completely uneducated guess would probably make us a first four play-in team or a 1-2 seed in the NIT. Steal a win @uo or @ua and finish with a winning conference record somehow? Who knows, that could be enough to clinch it cause that would probably mean 6+ Q1 wins which would be hard to ignore one would figure.
uo got hot and went on a tear last year after looking as inconsistent as we have for much of last year. Maybe now that there were finally two really solid performances put together this team is turning the corner and primed for a run too. It all starts with Colorado on Saturday, win that and then we can start that conversation. Lose, and IMO we can all but kiss NCAAs good bye barring a Pac-12 tournament run. Really wish these guys had built a little cushion by taking care of business against some "lesser" teams. 17-7 and 7-5 sound really good right now and would probably have us in as an 8-11 seed in current projections.
If there's one thing to give us all hope it's that we know this team can win every remaining game on their schedule. The scary thing is they could also collapse and finish 1-6 or 2-5 and bow out in the first round and miss both tournaments altogether. I'll be there Saturday ready to do my part in willing them to a W, hope the rest of beaver nation is too.
I hope more show than tonight. I think 3500 was a stretch from my view point.

Great win for Beavs. Took care of business with little doubt of the outcome for most of game. Needless to say big game against Colorado. To be honest, I think it is a long shot for the Beavs to make tourney. But NIT is certainly within reach. And who knows, maybe a 5-2 finish is enough to go dancing. But with UA and Oregon on road, most likely need to finish the season sweep against Colorado.

Maybe 4100 Tix sold....3000 in house is more like it, even the students chose to skip this one. Too bad more didn’t make the effort......entertaining game.

Tackled Bryce Love! (Which was actually awesome the first 500 times) Wasn't it Christian McCaffrey that he tackled? My bad! Dang those great Stanford rb’s anyway. At least I didn’t say it was Toby Gearhart or Touchdown Tommy Vardell!

Attendance is also a measure of the product. Last Night was a good effort. Can we triplicate against Colorado. They fell apart last night in Eugene.

And they were 12-13 game before vs Oregon Lead the conference in FT%. Where's everyone always complaining about how bad we are from the line? I remember from fan comments during past regimes that bad free throw shooting was a clear sign of bad coaching. Apparently good free throw shooting isn't a sign of anything other than good free throw shooting.

I remember from fan comments during past regimes that bad free throw shooting was a clear sign of bad coaching. Apparently good free throw shooting isn't a sign of anything other than good free throw shooting. It think it is accurately a sign of a coach emphasizing fundamentals. I agree a poor FT shooting team is a reflection of a coach that doesn't emphasize practice of free throws, and lets be real honest, it is a hugely important part of the game. By poor, i mean season wide stats. Any team, elite or terrible can have a single good or bad game. I would say it is true it is not a indication of good or exceptional coaching, just that the coach is at least taking care of the basics.

Not sure why people are getting on coach T about his reactions, he is more demonstrative, but no one burned you from the bench more than Coach Miller - he had it down to an art, where as Coach Tinkle basically uses the same gestures whether he is stoked or mad.
He, like most coaches is also always working the refs, but there was one moment when one of our bench players undercut a Ute on a rebound attempt and got a foul - Tinkle was doing a bit of hard core teaching and in the middle of that lesson, he turned to the ref and said "good call"
