I am pretty much a duck hater , so this game provides some great trash talking material no matter what happens in spewgene at Phil knights folly . This should put Dana, banjo boy Altman in their hall of shame !

I was at the game, and these comments are so puzzling to me.
Bad on ball D? Ethan had a phenomenal game guarding Pritchard.
Reichle played well and had one of his better shooting nights.
Not one mention all game for the job Kylor did? Best rebounding performance in a long time for him and didn’t foul when helping on Pritchard’s drives.
Tres didn’t have a great game, but he made a huge steal late in the game and got buckets down low down the stretch. Also hit two clutch free throws. Had the bad turnover late and called timeout vs. the press when he had a wide open Reichle over half court, but everything else was good.
Great team win in my opinion. Wish we always showed that effort.
Goes for fans as well. A full Gill is my favorite sports venue ever.

Watched on tape delay, so just finished. Some observations.
ET is a tough matchup for Pritchard.
TT 3 pt shooting has to come back if we are going to make a run.
Good to see a couple local boys do damage.
PP throws his arm out and up on every drive.
Always great to beat the Ducks.

Good to see a couple local boys do damage. PP throws his arm out and up on every drive. Always great to beat the Ducks. Just back from postgame eats etc... and thru the replay. To your points and others: 1) when ET wants to play D... and O... he's a tough matchup period. He just doesn't do it regularly. As DM mentioned during the telecast... he and KK have the talents to do much more, more often. 2) TT is flat out rushing, pressing, trying to carry the team. His history shows that the start of the year shooting is an anomaly, but he's much better than his last 7 games... 36/104... 3/32 from three. 3) PP is the only uck player tonight that scared me. He's their entire team as far as creating offense, and a gamer. His use of his body and arms is very subtle and never really exaggerated so he gets away with a lot. ST does much the same when he decides to penetrate. 4) thought this was the first game I've seen OSU get the benefit of whistles at home. Not by calls they got away with, but by not getting cheaper calls against them. Huge and key missed call was on TT's steal. Replay clearly showed his left foot OB. Typically goes against us somehow... missed and OSU capitalized. 5) best 40 min of team D of the WT era. It was not a team missing wide open looks. It was a team constantly fighting for looks late in the shot clock because of great team D. 6) as is the pattern, I'll get more excited when broken, other than being vs the ucks good Ws can't be followed by bad losses. And, with the hole they dug, next weekend has to be a sweep.

I have a question that is going to sound to some like I'm being a passive aggressive jerk, but I'm honestly curious. I've read multiple times, especially recently in the threads about why Wayne Tinkle is not good enough for Oregon State, that WT can't recruit any good players that aren't coaches' sons. Does this mean that Kylor Kelly is not good, was not recruited by WT, or is the son of a coach? Am I missing something?

The difference. The Beavs finally modified their man to man D. Up until now, they would hedge Kylor on the high screen, and he would get burned on the roll e v e r y t i m e. Last night, they did a much better job mixing up the D, and with an improved man to man, it really threw the ucks off their rhythm. It ONLY took 2/3 of the season to fix. But that was huge to not have our 7 footer trying to guard PP 25 feet from the basket. It showed in KKs rebound stats, and number of easy uck buckets at the rim.

I will get this incorrect, but,I finat altnanns No. 1 recryuitng classes are not living up to the hype. They may, still, get on a little run - but, I think it is a tough approach for any coach! You don't see team offense or defense as a team. In the first place, Secondarily, these 5 star 'one and done' players are all about racking up the stats. Peyton is the Sabrina of the men's team . A jerk, on and off the court ( Eugene , uo source)! His idea of sharing the ball is when he switches hands in his dribble drive . I heard he is up for National player of the year ( seems like the ducks have one in every sport - hmmmm ? ). Yeah, he has an outstanding play now and then - but he is just a ball hog that shoots every time down the floor, while his teammates stand on the court and watch !

Amazing that you can have over 650 assists in your career without passing the ball. Oh...and he was no where near a 5 star recruit. He does seem like a prick, but it’s hard to call him a ball hog when he averages 6 assists per game.

The nega-Beav answer might be: - re KK, lack of development and wasn’t a highly ranked recruit - overall recruiting is lackluster, lack of 4/5 star guys outside of coaches kids In the final analysis, whatever the specific complaint about WT is, it comes down to wins and losses. Beaver fans had higher expectations for this season. It remains to be seen if we can make it to big dance.

If that is directed at me, ET did have a slow start, getting torched several times by a driving PP. Fortunately he recovered to do a good job on both ends of the court. Tres is our best player of course, but he had 4 turnovers, was 4-13, and 0-4 from 3 and a couple of them weren’t even close. So while he had his “normal” moments, I really don’t think you can say “everything else was good”. He made a lot of curious decisions, un-Tres like in my opinion. But it’s all good! Even so we won, and that’s all that matters!

Altman has made a final four, elite 8, and sweet 16 3 of the past four years. How's that underachieving?
