That is issue when you go for every block. It takes you out of rebounding position Their Kelley got at least two offensive put backs by Kylor leaving rebounding position to go for the block. It was a turning point in the game. We had just made free throws to take the lead, and Kelley had TWO big put backs...one dunk...when Kelly helped away. SOMEONE else needed to put a body on the big fella, but didn't. Gave the bears some mo. Crap.

Gave the bears some mo. Crap. Kelly got into KK's head and he knew it and showed it with the double T. He single-handedly swung the momentum back into Cal's favor with his interior play against KK. Completely took KK out of the game. And I think I mentioned it earlier there was no adjustment by KK, WT, or any of the other 4 on the floor either.

Just bad offense. Out of control. Tinkles game is not like last Year. Teams have adjusted and Ethan shows He is not playing smart or under control.

why do you take your last timeout with 3.9 secs left, when your opponent needs to hit the last free throw to go up by 2? Don't you save that timeout to advance the ball or protect on a mistake? Am I wrong? IMHO that was a terrible choice, win or not, that almost guarantees the loss! Can't advance the ball with a TO in men's basketball. I agree with the use of a timeout, get a play drawn up and hopefully get a shot out of it. Just terrible execution. 3.6 seconds left, needing to full court and to make a contested 3 for the win? Run that scenario 10 times, and the team having the 2 pt lead wins 9 out of 10. I thought it was game over when Tinkle got the offensive foul and had the basket waived off. Turnover to Cal. But, it was a good game. Beavs could have shot the ball better from three...how many air balls/bricks were there? Kylor gave up some offensive rebounds by leaving his man down the stretch, etc. There's just not a lot of margin for error with this Beav team--do a couple things poorly on the road and they're not going to win.

The difference between last years offense and this years? Pretty simple really. Nobody replaced Stevie. Players didn't do it recruiting didn't do it. Tres had a lot more room driving to the hoop last year because there was a defender that couldn't sag off Stevie.

I agree that winning the game at that point was unlikely. The problem I have is that they call a timeout to presumably scheme for the situation and that is what they came up with. Have to run some kind of play that gets the player catching the in bounds with his momentum going forward to have any chance of getting a decent shot. Tres and Ethan both seemed too lackadaisical. And someone pointed out Ethan slipped, but it looked to me like slipped because he seemed surprised that a guy was pressuring him. But even if that wasn’t the case, play was doomed once he caught the pass while having no forward momentum nor path for getting up court. And yes, the Beavs did have some terrible shots. I believe they had at least 3 airballs as well as a couple that rocketed off back board.

How many more years does WT get paid by us? You’re paying him? As a state employee he is technically bankrolled by the public's coffers. Perhaps one or two pennies from my taxes has floated his way lol

Every time I watch this Team I get totally frustrated. They act like they are just learning the fundamentals and understanding of the game. Overall we have a very poor basketball IQ. I don’t mind the losses as much poor effort and stupid mistakes. Some of it has to coaching at this point , I’ve been patient until now, but I’m ready for a change

Just imagine how good the beavs will be next year without tinkle, kelley, and Thompson. this is why WT needs to go at the end of season. 6 years is long enough to proof he can’t coach and can’t recruit.

I'd be shocked if Thompson doesn't transfer after this season .

Tinkle pulled that ‘call the final timeout before the 2nd free throw’ garbage at UCLA a few years ago. That time there was only 1 or 2 seconds left. UCLA missed the FT and we heaved a 75 foot shot up for our final play lol.
There’s literally no advantage to calling the time out earlier like that. NONE. Ideally they should have kept their options open and waited. Maybe he misses and you’d need it to stop the clock on the rebound. Maybe you try to get in a longer pass in bounds pass if he makes it then call it.
Or maybe you put in an actual point guard if ‘the play’ was to throw it ten feet in bounds then dribble.

I'd be shocked if Thompson doesn't transfer after this season . I would be shocked if Thompson transfers. That might change, if Tinkle is not here next season.

Maybe Sr is the scapegoat assistant and ET leaves? Busy today, just finished the DVR of this game. Wow... not many teams can outscore the home team by double digits from the free throw line and still lose!? Of course when you allow an offensively challenged team to shoot 50%... your best two players disappear the last 7 minutes... anything's possible. Luckily Hollins showed up or it wasn't even a game the last 7 minutes! 10-2 vs no one... no consistent development of the bench and roles. Now 3-7 in league... and sporadic random contributions with no consistent depth. However, the 5+ year consistent factor... multiple stretches of scoring droughts. Hmmmmm
